Dylan Cease fans eight in no-decision versus Astros Monday

by Brenton Kemp | Blue Jays Correspondent | Tue, Jun 23rd 8:47am EDT

Blue Jays right-hander Dylan Cease allowed two earned runs with four walks against eight strikeouts in a no-decision against the Astros on Monday.

Fantasy Impact:

Blue Jays manager John Schneider elected to keep Cease in the game at over 100 pitches with two out in the sixth, but Jose Altuve notched a game-tying RBI single, taking away a potential win and a quality start from the right-hander. Cease nonetheless continued to provide plenty of fantasy value with eight more strikeouts, increasing his season-long total to 118, good for third-best in the big leagues and tops in the American League. The veteran will carry a 2.75 ERA into his next scheduled start at home on Saturday against the Rangers.
