Sonny Gray carries no-hit bid into eighth inning

by Bruno Mulé | Red Sox Correspondent | Mon, Jun 29th 9:06am EDT

Sonny Gray did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Yankees after allowing one hit and one walk over 7.1 scoreless innings. He struck out nine and carried a no-hit bid into the eighth before Amed Rosario recorded a one-out single. Gray threw 64 of his 97 pitches for strikes, with his final strikeout marking the 2,000th of his career.

Fantasy Impact:

Gray has recorded six consecutive quality starts, allowing nine runs with a 41:10 K across 39.2 innings during that stretch. He owns a 2.69 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 75:21 K over 83.2 innings and is projected to face the Angels on the road next.
