Herrera, the Colorado Rockies’ No. 14 prospect, was initially placed on the injured list with elbow inflammation before an MRI revealed a tear. He could undergo surgery as early as July 1 and is expected to miss at least the first half of the 2027 season. He closed the 2026 season without allowing a run over 2.1 innings with the Rockies, while posting a 5.16 ERA and 1.72 WHIP across 22.2 innings with Triple-A Albuquerque.
