Shane Bieber roughed up in loss to Mariners Saturday

by Brenton Kemp | Blue Jays Correspondent | Sun, Jul 5th 11:58am EDT

Blue Jays right-hander Shane Bieber allowed seven earned runs across four innings while taking the loss on Saturday against the Mariners.

Fantasy Impact:

Bieber pitched a scoreless first inning, but the Mariners got to him for five second-inning runs on the back of a Randy Arozarena grand slam. He allowed a two-run homer off the bat of Dominic Canzone in the fifth inning before recording an out and was pulled from the game after 89 pitches, 53 of which were strikes. The veteran has largely struggled in his return from the injured list, posting a 9.00 ERA across three starts and just 13 innings, going 0-1 in the process. He will look to shake off some more rust in a road matchup with the Padres on Friday.
