Troy Melton dominates with seven scoreless in win over Mariners

Tigers right-hander Troy Melton pitched seven scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and two walks in a win over the Mariners on Tuesday.

Melton got plenty of offensive support in an 8-0 win, but he needed very little in this one. The right-hander gave the Mariners nothing in this one as Seattle failed the record an extra-base hit off Melton, who struck out four against his two walks on the evening. Melton has now hurled seven innings of scoreless I baseball in consecutive starts after mowing down the Orioles last week. The 25-year-old has been dominant since returning from injury, going 7-1 with a 1.53 ERA across 12 starts on the season. He lines up to take the ball next on the road against the Giants on Sunday.
