DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins may have the Heat’s interest

by Leonard Grandio | Wed, Jun 10th 8:48am EDT

The Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly going to make a hard push to sign free agent center DeMarcus Cousins for a playoff run. (Heat Nation)

Fantasy Impact:

Cousins was released by the Lakers back in February. He has not played all season due to a torn ACL he suffered last offseason. The Heat have the cap space to sign Cousins but must cut either Udonis Haslem, Solomon Hill, or Chris Silva. There have also been rumors swirling around the league that LeBron James would love for the Lakers to bring back Cousins for the playoffs. Last season, Cousins averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.3 steals a game for the Golden State Warriors. The center would be a great addition to either team and could be the final piece for a championship run. Cousins will first have to demonstrate he’s healthy and ready to play, as he was not ready in February. Stay tuned to monitor where he lands.
