Ashton Jeanty is dealing with a lower ankle sprain and his status for Week 1 is uncertain. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact: This is actually a positive development for Jeanty, as there was certainly some concern over a longer-term injury when the second-year running back went down this past Sunday. This could certainly drop Jeanty down some fantasy draft boards a bit, but he should be rolling at full strength by the second or third week of the season at the latest.

Ben Sinnott (oblique) is dealing with an oblique injury, per HC Dan Quinn. (Source: Tashan Reed on X)

Fantasy Impact: The third year tight end is primarily a depth option at this point with little fantasy value. That’s not to say he hasn’t shown potential, he just needs to be given the role. It doesn’t seem like that’s coming anytime soon though.

Jacorey Croskey-Merritt is dealing with a lower body injury, per HC Dan Quinn. (Source: Tashan Reed on X)

Fantasy Impact: The running back was limited in practice on Monday with an undisclosed injury, and now we at least get clarification of a lower body injury. Which frankly is still a little vague. Fantasy managers will need to wait for more details on the exact extent of his injury, but if he’s at least limited, it doesn’t sound like it’s anything too major.

Dylan Horton will miss the entirety of the 2026 season due to a torn Achilles. (Source: Jonathan M. Alexander on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Tests confirmed the severity of Horton's injury on Monday. The fourth-year defensive end played in 16 games for the Texans last season, recording 26 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and one forced fumble.

By Ari Koslow

The Cardinals waived/injured running back Trey Benson. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Benson would revert to the Cardinals IR list if he were to clear waivers. He had been at the end of the backfield's depth chart following the offseason additions of Jeremiyah Love and Tyler Allgeier.

Giants head coach John Harbaugh said “it’s reasonable to assume” that Malik Nabers is trending toward being ready for Week 1. (Source: Ari Meirov on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Nabers was able to practice on Monday without the red non-contact jersey. Barring a setback, he is trending towards being ready for the start of the season.

Kayshon Boutte traded to Texans

Mon, Aug 24th 3:09pm EDT
By Ari Koslow

The Patriots are sending WR Kayshon Boutte to the Texans in exchange for safety Jaylen Reed and a 2028 seventh-round pick. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Boutte has had his name in trade rumors for most of the offseason following the Patriots offseason additions of AJ Brown and Romeo Doubs. Boutte will get a fresh start in a wide open wide receiver room with Houston. He should compete for a role as a field stretcher for the Texans.

Zay Flowers is not practicing on Monday for unclear reasons. (Source: Sam Cohn on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Flowers walked onto the practice field in sneakers and a T-shirt on Monday. There should be an update on his status when available.

Makai Lemon (hamstring) is back to practicing fully for the first time in weeks. He returned to practice in a limited fashion last week, and is now practicing in full. (Source: John Clark on X)

Fantasy Impact: This is huge for Lemon’s development and integration into the offense. The more reps he gets, especially as a rookie, the better. He’s looking like a potential draft steal if he can continue to stay healthy and improve his game.

Devonta Smith (hamstring) is practicing fully on Monday for the first time in three weeks. He returned in a limited fashion recently, but he is back to fully participating. (Source: John Clark on X)

Fantasy Impact: It’s great news for Smith as he works his way back from a hamstring injury. This should be the all the confidence boost fantasy managers needed to continue targeting him highly in drafts.

TreVeyon Henderson slipped during practice while making a cut and left practice early. (Source: Mike Reiss on X)

Fantasy Impact: Hopefully it’s just a precaution and nothing serious, more along the vein of a stinger than anything major. Still, fantasy managers will need to wait until more news emerges to really get a grip on the details.

Deshaun Watson has been named the Browns starting QB for Week 1 against Jacksonville. (Source: Adam Schefter on X)

Fantasy Impact: Watson was the favorite to win the job going in, and even though he had some hiccups on the way, namely preseason struggles and the fans booing him, he won out in the end. It’s still likely that Shedeur Sanders will get a crack as the starter at some point this year, it’s just a matter of when. As for the Browns pass catchers, they were priced assuming bad QB play, expect their price and fantasy ceiling to remain about the same, as Watson is past his prime and Sanders is also struggling.

Fantasy Impact: White is now heading to New Orleans after being picked up by the 49ers this offseason. The 26-year-old is likely being brought in as a depth piece behind Travis Etienne Jr. following the injury to Alvin Kamara, who is expected to be sidelined for a month with a sprained MCL.

Bud Clark was carted off from Sunday's preseason game with an apparent leg injury. (Source: Mike Garafolo on X)

Fantasy Impact: Clark's lower right leg was put in an aircast before he was carted off, which is never a good sign. The 2026 second-round pick will likely be on the shelf to begin the season, but a timetable will likely become available at some point this week.

Alex Wright (Achilles) has been placed on season-ending injured reserve with a torn Achilles. (Source: Adam Schefter on X)

Fantasy Impact: The 2025 breakout suffered the injury during practice on Thursday and will now miss the rest of the season. Wright was looking to build off of a career best 5.5 sack season, but will now have to turn his eyes onto 2027.

George Kittle (Achilles) has been activated off of the 49ers PUP. A big step towards playing Week 1. (Source: Ian Rapoport on x)

Fantasy Impact: Kittle was trending towards playing in Week 1, and this is a big step in that direction. He could be stepping into a big target share, especially with Mike Evans and De’Zhaun Stribling dealing with injuries of their own. Granted, the receivers injuries don’t sound serious, but they’re still noteworthy.

Tyler Biadasz (knee) has been placed on season-ending injured reserve by the Los Angeles Chargers according to Ari Meirov. (Source: Ari Meirov on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Biadasz suffered the knee injury earlier in the week during practice, leaving a gaping hole in a Chargers offensive line that hoped the offensive lineman would fortify the center position after signing with the organization during free agency. Backup Jake Slaughter will now ramp up to take on increased snaps at center for head coach Jim Harbaugh as the regular season approaches.
