49ers tight end George Kittle has been ruled out for the team's Week 2 matchup against the New York Jets, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. Kittle suffered a left knee sprain in the team's Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Kittle caught four of his five targets for 44 yards in Sunday's loss. He remains one of the top tight ends in the NFL (and in fantasy) but will now miss at least one week due to this knee injury. With Kittle out, Jordan Reed should emerge as the top pass-catching tight end option in San Francisco this week.
