Jayden Daniels: Dan Quinn wants the rookie QB to run less going forward

“We’d love to see him (Jayden Daniels) remain a passer first, and I think it’s going to come with more experience, honestly,” said HC Dan Quinn after practice Tuesday. "Certainly, 18 (16) carries is not the model that we’re looking for, certainly with Brian (Robinson), Austin (Ekeler) and others here." (USA Today)
Fantasy Impact:
Daniels carried the ball 16 times for 88 yards in the Commanders' Week 1 loss at Tampa Bay to go along with his 184 yards passing. Quinn would like to decrease the number of rushing attempts moving forward to do his best to protect the rookie QB. Due to Daniels's proven abilities to escape the pocket and create plays with his legs, this may open up more opportunities through the air as defenses may adjust to focus more on the run.
