Matt Ryan ends Panthers' perfect season with 306 passing yards
by Justin Dade | Sun, Dec 27th 4:42pm EST
Matt Ryan and the Falcons ended the Panthers' undefeated season finishing 23/30 for 306 yards and 1 touchdown. Ryan locked into Julio Jones early and often highlighted by his desperation throw to Jones that he hauled in for the miraculous 70-yard touchdown strike in the third quarter. Ryan was hit hard on a scramble in the first half and was hit often in this game. He battled through injuries showing a lot of heart and finished the game without an interception, but was credited with a fumble on a lost snap.
Fantasy Impact:
This was easily Ryan's best real football performance all season, but only one touchdown will hurt his fantasy production. This game was just Ryan's sixth of the season without an interception. It's been a rough year for the veteran quarterback in this new system, but it seems he's starting to figure things out. Ryan will be a solid QB1 next week as the Falcons have another rivalry game next Sunday against the Saints and their wimpy pass defense.
