Fantasy Football Player Notes

Geno Smith is the QB23 in fantasy points per game. His only massively successful fantasy outing of the season was when he faced the Lions' woeful secondary. Last week, he had a horrible box score, but the Jets didn't have the ball. The Bears controlled the clock the entire game as the Jets only had the ball for 17:15. Smith finished with only 15 passing attempts. Smith has actually been playing quite well, and it hasn't been reflected in his box scores outside of destroying the Lions. Among 29 qualifying passers, Smith ranks eighth in yards per attempt, tenth in passing success rate, 12th in highly accurate throw rate, and first in catchable target rate. Smith is a middling QB2 this week. Cleveland's pass defense has played well, allowing the 13th-fewest EPA per dropback, the 14th-lowest passing success rate, and the ninth-lowest CPOE.
