10 Bold Predictions for Week 14 Fantasy Football

10 Bold Predictions for Week 14 Fantasy Football

After 13 weeks, I now sit 35%, well over my season-long goal of 30%. Last week I only managed to tally two hits thanks to Justin Jackson and Jalen Richard both producing. That means I need 5 of the remaining 40 bold predictions to reach my goal, and I’d love to wrap it up this week by hitting 50%. Here we go!

#10 Jared Goff won’t be a top 20 QB this week
Goff played high school ball near San Francisco, played in college for Cal and now obviously plays in Los Angeles. He is a California boy through and through. That doesn’t guarantee that he will struggle in the cold, but it was certainly the case last time it was chilly. He was blowing on his hands and struggling with accuracy all game. This week’s contest in Chicago will be frigid, plus he will have a fearsome pass rush after him all night. It just so happens that Goff hasn’t been all that great under pressure either. Now, there is a chance he toughens up and puts a whooping on the best defense in football, but I’m betting otherwise.
Final Prediction: 15/31, 202 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 2 carries, 9 yards

#9 Kansas City will finish as a top 5 D/ST this week
Wait a second, the team that has given up 327 points already this year? Yup. That’s the one. I didn’t say they were going to toss a shutout. Fantasy points have much more to do with turnovers, as you know, and this week they should get at least two. It isn’t that Lamar Jackson has done an awful job since taking over, but in a game script that forces him to pass 25+ times and often downfield, does not bode well for Baltimore’s chances. I’m banking on the Chiefs getting their hands on several of his erroneous pass attempts.
Final Prediction: 17 points allowed, 1 sack, 3 interceptions, 1 TD

#8 Doug Baldwin won’t be a top 50 WR this week
This has little to do with talent. Baldwin still has plenty of it and should be back to good next year, but he is clearly playing injured right now and his game logs make that obvious. His top game of the season provided fantasy owners with just 11 fantasy points and while anyone would take that during the fantasy playoffs, you definitely shouldn’t expect it versus the Vikings’ lockdown secondary. Rather, you should anticipate another subpar outing from the struggling receiver.
Final Prediction: 6 targets, 3 receptions, 28 yards

#7 Josh Gordon will finish as a top 10 WR this week
If Xavien Howard were playing for the Dolphins this week, I wouldn’t think twice about making this prediction. He is one of the best cover corners in football, but he is out which means Cordrea Tankersley will most likely be on him. Gordon may not get a ton of targets, as we saw last week, but when he ball is thrown his way, Gordon should eat. There is no excuse for leaving him out of your lineup this weekend.
Final Prediction: 7 targets, 6 receptions, 100 yards, 1 TD

#6 Dan Arnold will end up a top 12 TE this week
You may hate the idea of benching Cameron Brate or Kyle Rudolph for a guy you’ve never heard of, but truly, it is in your best interest. Arnold has taken over as the Saints’ primary receiving tight end. He isn’t any kind of guarantee for targets or even production, but the same can be said about all but five tight ends this season. What he does offer is upside versus a shoddy Bucs’ defense that has allowed 5.6 receptions and 73.8 yards to opposing tight ends so far this season. You can start Arnold in a desperate situation.
Final Prediction: 5 targets, 5 receptions, 66 yards, 1 TD

The Last Five

#5 Patrick Mahomes won’t finish as a top 10 QB this week
Final Prediction: 20/33, 280 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 5 carries, 22 yards

#4 Adrian Peterson will end up a top 12 RB this week
Final Prediction: 23 carries, 114 yards, 1 TD, 1 reception, 6 yards

#3 Marquise Goodwin will be a top 36 WR this week
Final Prediction: 5 targets, 3 receptions, 65 yards, 1 TD

#2 Cameron Brate won’t finish as a top 20 TE this week
Final Prediction: 4 targets, 2 receptions, 16 yards

#1 Washington will be a top 5 D/ST this week
Final Prediction: 16 points allowed, 6 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 INT

**Bonus Super Duper Bold Prediction**
Ty Montgomery will end up a top 15 RB this week
Final Prediction: 4 carries, 22 yards, 5 receptions, 58 yards, 1 TD
