10 Bold Predictions for Week 15 Fantasy Football

10 Bold Predictions for Week 15 Fantasy Football

On the season, I’m at 34% which gives me some cushion over the next few weeks to hit my season-long goal of 30%. I managed just two out of ten including Jared Goff producing outside the top 20 fantasy QBs last week. This week, I’m hoping to bounce back and hit three to secure my year-long goal before Week 16. Remember, a bold prediction is something the general public would give a 10% chance of happening but I believe has a 30% chance. Let’s jump right into it!

#10 Michael Gallup will end up a top 25 WR this week
Amari Cooper has been carrying this Dallas pass attack since he was traded to the Cowboys, but Gallup has quietly been emerging. He is now the clear-cut number two receiver in terms of both snap count and target share. More importantly, however, is the fact that despite 17 fewer targets in the past six weeks, he has more air yards than Cooper as well as DeAndre Hopkins and JuJu Smith Schuster. As we have learned time and time again, air yards are much more predictive than receiving yards so don’t be surprised with Gallup halls in a deep ball this week versus the Colts.
Final Prediction: 6 targets, 4 receptions, 114 yards, 1 TD

#9 Ito Smith will be a top 20 RB this week
Yes, Ito is technically on the injury report as questionable, but chances are high that he will suit up and if he does, we may be looking at the lead back for Atlanta. He forced a split backfield a month ago and has since surpassed Coleman in terms of touches. This week, the Falcons have a juicy matchup versus the Cardinals who are among the worst run defenses in football. Even with just a dozen touches or so, Smith is a sneaky good flex start in the fantasy playoffs because of that matchup and the ensuing game script.
Final Prediction: 12 carries, 88 yards, 1 TD, 2 receptions, 21 yards

#8 Ian Thomas won’t end up a top 20 TE this week
It seems as though everyone is suddenly excited about Thomas. I get it, he is athletic and saw a ton of targets last week, but that was last week. There are a dozen streamers who a better bets this weekend because Thomas has an awful draw against the Saints. New Orleans was the number one best defense versus tight ends heading into last week when they held Cameron Brate to 2 receptions for 12 yards. It just so happened that both of those catchers were in the end zone which quickly threw off their numbers. Avoid tight ends against the Saints, especially streaming options.
Final Prediction: 5 targets, 2 receptions, 16 yards

#7 Derek Carr will finish as a top 10 QB this week
It may feel disgusting playing Carr, who has unquestionably had his struggles and plays for an awful team with no weapons. With that said, people are talking about Josh Allen because he had a few fluky weeks of running the ball in a row. Carr, meanwhile, has actually sustained production for more than just the past month. There were some stinkers in there, for sure, but each was predictable based on his matchup. This week won’t be like that as Oakland draws the shoddy Bengals secondary who has been lit up all year by even less impressive quarterbacks.
Final Prediction: 26/37, 330 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT

#6 Randall Cobb will be a top 25 WR this week
Don’t look now, but after disappointing fantasy owners for the first half of the season, Cobb has quietly become the Packers’ number two receiver again since he came back from injury. In the past two weeks, he has clearly been number two in snap count and target share, and anytime you can get Aaron Rodgers‘ number two receiver off the waiver wire, it is a good idea. The matchup isn’t ideal versus the Bears, but they are a pass funnel defense and the expected game script indicates that Rodgers will be airing it out once again.
Final Prediction: 8 targets, 6 receptions, 75 yards, 1 TD

The Last Five

#5 Zach Zenner will finish as a top 25 RB this week1
Final Prediction: 14 carries, 90 yards, 1 TD, 1 reception, 4 yards

#4 Josh Johnson will be a top 15 fantasy QB this week
Final Prediction: 16 for 29, 181 pass yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 11 carries, 97 yards, 1 TD

#3 Vernon Davis will finish as a top 8 TE this week
Final Prediction: 5 targets, 4 receptions, 82 yards, 1 TD

#2 Larry Fitzgerald will end up as a top 15 WR this week
Final Prediction: 9 targets, 9 receptions, 71 yards, 2 TDs

#1 The Bears won’t be a top 15 D/ST this week
Final Prediction: 27 points allowed, 3 sacks, 0 turnovers

**Bonus Super Duper Bold Prediction**
Jamison Crowder will be a top 25 WR this week
Final Prediction: 8 targets, 7 receptions, 68 yards, 1 TD
