ThriveFantasy is one of the most intriguing and exciting names in the DFS arena. Instead of the traditional salary cap based offerings, ThriveFantasy offers a variety of attractive prop based contests. They have two exciting DFS contest types to choose from, the Contest Lobby and the Props Lobby.
Their Props Lobby allows DFS players to make an over/under prediction on two to four props to win cash. Two correct selections pay a 3.6x time multiplier, three correct predictions pay a 6.2x multiplier, and four correct picks pay an 11 times multiplier. In these contests, you are competing against yourself, and if all of your predictions hit, you win the corresponding amount.
The Contest Lobby is where things really get intriguing. The Contest Lobby’s prop contests for the NFL involves making predictions on five out of the 10 listed props. You will be required to make two additional picks to ensure fairness just in case one of your players fails to play. These backup picks are called ice picks.
Fantasy sports players, especially DFS players, have an edge when it comes to player prop betting. DFS players set lineups taking into account potential production when weighing competing options against each other. This is most pronounced with the NBA and the NFL DFS players. As such, diving into prop based DFS contests is a smart way to further monetize your knowledge. While the Contest Lobby requires you to select 10 different props, you can still make a return even if you do not get every over/under prediction right.
Instead of providing my full lineup, we will instead be shifting to highlighting the top plays to consider. These are Contest Lobby props that are good enough that they would be strong considerations if offered in the Prop Lobby.

Joe Mixon (RB – CIN): 62.5 rushing yards
Mixon had 82 rushing yards in the opener, and as the 80 points for the over indicates, ThriveFantasy expects it to click. Dallas is going to struggle with Cooper Rush under center, which should lead to positive gamescript for Joe Mixon and the running game. He is a strong candidate to see 20+ carries once again. Mixon is often boom or bust as far as rushing totals go, but with a spread that is currently over a touchdown and Micah Parsons likely to be causing headaches for Joe Burrow, expect the Bengals to lean on the run to set up the pass in an effort to keep Parsons, and the Cowboys pass rush honest.
Prediction: Over (80 points)
Deebo Samuel (WR – SF): 75.5 rushing + receiving yards
This should be a layup. Deebo managed just 66 yards from scrimmage in the opener, but that was a rain-soaked affair that saw the veteran receiver haul in just two of his seven targets. With the weather projected to be much more cooperative this Sunday against Seattle, Samuel should be good for at least 90 yards from scrimmage, with 60 or more through the air and 30 or more on the ground. The 100 points on both sides indicates that ThriveFantasy is not so sure, but Samuel is going to eat and see opportunities rushing and receiving, especially with Elijah Mitchell on IR and George Kittle still questionable at best. Deebo has absolutely shredded the Seahawks through the air in the past with averages of 9.7 targets, seven receptions, 123.3 receiving yards, and 0.7 touchdowns over three games. This season he will be facing the youngest cornerback group the Seahawks have had in years. Fire Samuel up as a core pick for Week 2 at ThriveFantasy.
Prediction: Over (100 points)
Mike Evans (WR – TB): 66.5 receiving yards
Just 66.5 receiving yards with Chris Godwin out? That is the question many ThriveFantasy players will be asking themselves when they see this number. However, the fact that there is 100 points on both sides of this contest lobby prop should tell us all we need to know about what Thrive has the probability pegged at. Yes, Evans should see more targets with Godwin out; that is a no-brainer. The true question is, can Evans have more success against Marshon Lattimore than he has in the last few years?

As we can see from the above tweet, Evans has struggled against the Saints’ top corner. Evans should, however, be force-fed 10+ targets in this one, and now that Julio Jones is in town, a player Lattimore used to shadow in Atlanta, Evans may see more snaps without Lattimore in coverage. This is a risky prop regardless of lean, but after the Saints allowed a similarly built receiver in Drake London to hit 74 receiving yards last week, Evans should be able to hit at least 67.
Prediction: Over (100 points)
