Injury News
Luke Schoonmaker (foot) will be activated Monday
The Cowboys will activate Luke Schoonmaker from the Non-Football Injury list Monday.
Fantasy Impact
Schoonmaker landed on the NFI list with a foot injury that occurred prior to entering the NFL. The second-rounder will now get to see his first reps in training camp with the Cowboys as he enters his rookie season. Schoonmaker currently ranks as the TE40 in ECR, according to FantasyPros.

Jerome Ford suffered a right hamstring injury Monday
Jerome Ford suffered a right hamstring injury Monday and walked off late during the practice session.
Fantasy Impact
Ford is in line for a major role behind starter Nick Chubb. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day until the team releases more information on the severity of the injury. John Kelly, Demetric Felton, and Hassan Hall should continue to see the bulk of the carries in the preseason.

Aaron Rodgers ‘fine’ after injuring toe in Saturday practice
According to New York Jets team reporter Ethan Greenberg, veteran QB Aaron Rodgers is “fine” after an incident where he injured his pinky toe in a non-padded workout.
Fantasy Impact
Head coach Robert Saleh emphasized the importance of keeping off the QB in practices. Rodgers was the team’s big offseason splash, so the Jets are emphasizing his health, especially at the age of 39. Rodgers, who had a down season compared to his own standards, still finished as the fantasy QB13 and can be drafted on average as the QB12, according to FantasyPros’ ADP data.

Rookie Watch
Will Levis winning over teammates
According to Tennessee Titans team reporter Jim Wyatt, QB Will Levis has “shown some spunk” and has received visual support and verbal encouragement from his teammates through his camp’s ups and downs.
Fantasy Impact
Levis was an early second-round pick for Tennessee, an investment that shows the front office wants to give him a genuine shot at being the team’s eventual starter. It’s never easy to be a rookie QB, and Levis was projected to be a developmental prospect. He’ll play behind QB Ryan Tannehill for at least this season and can learn behind the scenes. This is a good sign that he’s winning over support in the locker room even if he’s not slated to be a starter. Levis is a long-term play in dynasty leagues, but he shouldn’t be considered in re-draft formats in 2023.

C.J. Stroud will start Thursday’s preseason game
C.J. Stroud will start Thursday’s preseason game against New England, per Texans’ head coach DeMeco Ryans.
Fantasy Impact
Stroud reportedly took all of the first team reps at Saturday’s practice, the second consecutive day he did not share with incumbent Davis Mills. While it is assumed that the second overall pick in the 2023 draft will start Week 1, Stroud’s performance in the first preseason game should go a long way in helping the Texans’ determine if the rookie is ready.

NFL Training Camp Notes
Derek Carr, Saints starters to play in preseason opener
New Orleans head coach Dennis Allen said that QB Derek Carr and the other starters will play in Sunday’s preseason opener against the Chiefs, according to Luke Johnson of nola.com.
Fantasy Impact
The Saints don’t have a ton of new pieces on offense or a new head coach, but their most important position was a key offseason addition for the franchise. As a result, it’s important for Carr and the other starters for New Orleans to get some live-game action to build chemistry ahead of the 2023 season. Carr had 3,522 yards in 15 games last season, his lowest yards-per-game total in a year since 2017. In a new system replacing last year’s mix of Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton, Carr is going on average as the QB23, though he has not finished outside of the top 20 fantasy QBs in a season in his entire career.

Kareem Hunt working out with Saints Monday
Kareem Hunt is working out with the New Orleans Saints Monday.
Fantasy Impact
With the news of Alvin Kamara‘s three-game suspension, it makes sense that the Saints are looking for some depth at running back. Hunt rushed for 468 yards on 123 carries with the Browns last season.

Rico Dowdle listed as the No. 2 running back for Dallas
Rico Dowdle is listed as the No. 2 running back on the first unofficial depth chart for the Cowboys.
Fantasy Impact
Dowdle has limited NFL experience, playing in just 20 games since the 2020 season, tallying seven carries in those games. The 25-year-old appears to have the edge over Malik Davis and Ronald Jones to serve as the backup to Tony Pollard. Fantasy managers should view Dowdle as a valuable handcuff should he hold onto the second RB spot heading into the regular season.

Dallas Goedert consistent in camp
Dallas Goedert is having a ‘strong, consistent’ camp so far, providing a solid third option for Jalen Hurts behind wide receivers AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith.
Fantasy Impact
Consistency has been a theme throughout Goedert’s five seasons in the league, and he’s averaged 56.7 receiving yards per game and 13.8 yards per catch over the last two years. Despite the consistency, he is still third in the pecking order behind Brown and Smith and is part of a run-heavy Eagles offense.
