NFL DFS GPP Lineup Advice & Picks (Week 5)

NFL DFS GPP Lineup Advice & Picks (Week 5)

We had some fantastic picks in last week’s GPP article, recommending guys like Justin Fields, Brian Robinson, Zack Moss, Jerome Ford, George Pickens, and Christian Kirk. The one position I can’t seem to figure out from a GPP standpoint is the tight end position, but I honestly don’t believe anyone can right now.

With that said, let’s dive into the Week 5 GPP plays for this upcoming slate.

Week 4 GPP DFS Advice & Picks

The players below are ones I’m looking at for GPP considerations for Week 5.

Quarterbacks

DraftKings

Deshaun Watson (QB – CLE) : $5,300 at WAS

We had Watson in last week’s article, and he continues to be undervalued from a DFS standpoint. He’s being priced around guys like Mac Jones, Aidan O’Connell and Malik Willis because of some bad publicity, but averaging 15 DK points per game isn’t too shabby from a $5,300 player. He’s doing that while playing terribly, and there’s a chance he has an upside game here since Washington is allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.

Daniel Jones (QB – NYG): $5,200 at SEA

We just mentioned the players Watson is priced around, and Jones is another one who’s too cheap in the same tier. This guy averages 14 DraftKings points per game and has scored at least 18 DK points in two of his past three outings. That would be brilliant from a $5,200 player, and we just saw Seattle allow Jared Goff to have one of the best quarterback performances ever on Monday Night Football.

FanDuel

Anthony Richardson (QB – IND): $7,300 at JAX

Richardson has been driving fantasy managers crazy this season, but his upside is challenging to overlook. He was the top-scoring quarterback in fantasy through his first four starts and was leading a touchdown drive before getting injured last week. Nobody will use him because of those early-season struggles, but Richardson is a sneaky GPP option with his upside against a Jags team that surrenders the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.

Matthew Stafford (QB – LAR): $6,700 vs. GB

It’s strange to see Stafford this cheap. It’s easy to understand why, with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua out. Being priced below Joe Flacco and Tyler Huntley is an insult to this Super Bowl quarterback. Stafford is still one of the best quarterbacks in the game, and he might have to throw 40-50 times to keep up with one of the best offenses in the NFL. In his last matchup with the Packers, Stafford scored 26 FanDuel points.

Running Backs

DraftKings

Jerome Ford (RB – CLE): $5,800 at WAS

Ford is being overlooked in fantasy, but he’s been a beast since Nick Chubb got injured in 2023. This guy has been a bellcow back without Chubb, averaging 15 DraftKings points per game in that expanded role. We also love that he had seven receptions last week and should get the bulk of the goal-line work until Chubb returns. We love that against Washington, who is ranked 25th in total defense.

Javonte Williams (RB – DEN): $5,200 vs. LVR

It’s challenging to get excited about anyone in this Broncos offense, but Williams looked fantastic in the second half of their win over the Jets on Sunday. The starting running back finished that game with 16 carries for 77 yards. That’s all you can hope for from a $5K player, and if he gets 15-20 carries against Vegas, Williams should be one of the best values out there. The Raiders allow 5.1 yards-per-carry while posting a 26th OPRK against opposing backs.

FanDuel

Devin Singletary (RB – NYG): $6,200 at SEA

Singletary was running into a wall throughout Week 4, but we were encouraged by his role. The Giants lead back has at least 14 carries in three consecutive games, scoring at least 14 FanDuel points in two of those. Any player who could see 20 touches should never be $6,200 on FanDuel because most players in this price range are backups. We also don’t mind that Seattle surrendered a billion fantasy points for Detroit’s rushers on Monday Night Football.

Zamir White (RB – LVR): $5,500 at DEN

This one is risky, but White was projected to be the lead back in the offseason and had a season-high 17 carries this past week. We’re unsure if that role will stick around, but no $5,500 player sees double-digit carries, let alone flirting with 20. That’s awesome since Denver allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing rushers last year, with White rushing 25 times for 112 yards in their Week 18 matchup.

Wide Receivers

DraftKings

Dontayvion Wicks (WR – GB): $5,000 at LAR

With Christian Watson getting injured, Wicks should step into a prominent role. That’s what we saw in Week 4, with Wicks recording five catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns. That doesn’t even include the most impactful variable, with Wicks receiving 13 targets without Christian Watson. Not many $5K players will see 13 targets all season, and we don’t mind that LA owns a 25th OPRK against opposing wideouts.

Jordan Whittington (WR – LAR): $4,600 vs. GB

This game might be one of the highest-scoring matchups of the week, and Whittington should be fed since Kupp and Nacua are out. Whittington has stepped into the Kupp role in the slot, picking up six catches for 62 yards on eight targets in Week 4. He also led the team with a 97 percent snap share and should get some opportunities here since LA is expected to throw a ton as a massive underdog in this game.

FanDuel

Courtland Sutton (WR – DEN): $5,700 vs. LVR

The Broncos have one of the worst offenses in the NFL, but Sutton is the guy in this passing game. He’s been this team’s leading receiver for years and has a 27 percent team target share this season. That’s one of the highest totals in the NFL, with Sutton receiving at least nine targets in three of four games. He’s also scored 14 and 15 DK points in his two most recent outings and shouldn’t have any issues against a subpar Raiders defense.

Tutu Atwell (WR – LAR): $5,600 vs. GB

If you want to stack Stafford with Atwell and Whittington, you could use any other position players you want based on how cheap they all are. That’s a sneaky stack because Atwell has been this team’s best wideout in the absence of Kupp and Nacua. He played 90 percent of the snaps last week and has 175 receiving yards over the past two games. If this is a shootout, Atwell will be among the best values out there.

CTAs

Tight Ends

DraftKings

Mark Andrews (TE – BAL): $4,000 at CIN

Nobody will want to use Andrews after what we saw this past week. He had another bagel and has six catches for 65 yards on the season. That was an average game for this guy in the past, and head coach John Harbaugh said that Andrews has some big games on the horizon. That makes him a worthy GPP option because this guy was closer to $6K throughout his career and will be rostered by nobody.

FanDuel

Pat Freiermuth (TE – PIT): $5,200 vs. DAL

There are 12 tight ends priced above Friermuth, which makes no sense. Sadly, his 7.5 FD points per game is one of the highest totals at the position, with Pat recording at least four catches in all four games. Not many tight ends are doing that, and he could be asked to play a significant factor in one of the highest-scoring games of the week.

Defense/Special Teams

DraftKings

Indianapolis Colts D/ST: $2,600 at JAX

Not much makes us want to use Indy, but we would use anyone against Jacksonville. The Jaguars have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing D/STs, ranked 29th in points scored. That’s scary since Indy ranks 14th in total defense while averaging 6.8 DraftKings points per game. Not many people will use the Colts in this rivalry game, but they’re a decent value south of $3,000.

FanDuel

Carolina Panthers D/ST: $3,100 at CHI

Wow! Using the Panthers for anything is risky, but the Bears offense looks horrid. Chicago sits 20th in points scored and 27th in total yardage, with Caleb Williams looking lost in his rookie season. We don’t mind that since Carolina looks like a revived team behind Andy Dalton, entering this matchup as a small road favorite in a game with a 42-point total. That means the Bears are only projected to score about 21 points, which would be excellent for the Panthers since they’re one of the cheapest options on this slate.
