Fantasy football can be an extremely fun game to play. It can also be highly frustrating at times. Nothing is more annoying than needing to make a last-minute waiver-wire move because someone in your starting lineup is out for the week.
Sadly, there isn’t much you can do about it. However, I’m going to try to help.
Every week, I will have six players you can grab off the waiver wire at the last minute and throw into your lineup. Some will succeed, while others will fail. Unfortunately, that’s how the game of fantasy football is played. Let’s dive into my six last-minute waiver wire targets for Week 14.

Last-Minute Waiver Wire Pickups & Injury Replacements
All the players in this article are rostered in under 35% of ESPN leagues.
Will Levis (QB – TEN) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (25.8% Rostered)
Levis isn’t the most popular streaming option in fantasy football. However, the second-year quarterback has been productive since returning from a shoulder injury. He averaged 116.5 passing yards, one touchdown, and 7.7 fantasy points per game over the first six weeks, totaling 7.3 or fewer in 60% of the contests. By comparison, Levis has been the QB15 over the past four weeks, averaging 240 passing yards, 1.8 touchdowns, and 16.8 fantasy points per game, scoring two touchdowns and 16.1 or more fantasy points in all but one outing.
Furthermore, the former Kentucky star could have his first game with three passing touchdowns this season in Week 14. Levis faces a Jaguars defense that has surrendered four or more passing touchdowns to quarterbacks in 25% of their games, including a few weeks ago. More importantly, Jacksonville has given up 22.2 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, the most in the NFL. Over the past two weeks, quarterbacks have completed 73.1% of their passes for 345.5 yards, 2.5 touchdowns, and 25.4 fantasy points per game against a struggling Jaguars defense.
Braelon Allen (RB – NYJ) vs. Miami Dolphins (26.8% Rostered)
Unfortunately, Breece Hall is doubtful to play this week because of a knee injury. Some have speculated that the superstar could get shut down for the rest of the season, making Allen a must-add off the waiver wire even if fantasy players don’t need him this week. The rookie is the RB47 for the year, averaging 4.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, he has played well when given an opportunity. Allen has averaged nine fantasy points per game in the five contests with seven or more rushing attempts.
While Isaiah Davis should see some touches after a solid Week 13 performance, Allen will be the lead back on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Dolphins’ run defense has struggled this season. They have given up 21.3 fantasy points per game to running backs, the 11th-most in the NFL. Furthermore, the AFC East rivals have surrendered over 100 rushing yards to running backs in nearly half of their matchups. Last week, the Green Bay Packers backfield had 91 rushing yards, a touchdown, and 25.6 fantasy points against the Dolphins on Thanksgiving.
Sincere McCormick (RB – LV) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4.9% Rostered)
Las Vegas will be without Zamir White for the third consecutive game because of a quad injury. Meanwhile, Alexander Mattison is questionable because of an ankle injury after missing the past two games. While the veteran running back could return for Sunday’s matchup against the Buccaneers after practicing in limited fashion all week, expect McCormick to have a meaningful role in the backfield. He has been the team’s best running back over the past two weeks, earning 5.7 yards per attempt while leading the Raiders backfield in rushing yards.
McCormick had 97 rushing yards against the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams rank in the top seven in the fewest rushing yards given up to running backs this year. Therefore, the matchup against Tampa Bay’s run defense shouldn’t worry fantasy players. The Buccaneers have surrendered 20.8 fantasy points per game to running backs, slightly above the league average. They’ve given up over 95 rushing yards to running backs in three of their past six matchups. Expect a strong performance from McCormick, especially if Mattison doesn’t play.
Elijah Moore (WR – CLE) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (20.7% Rostered)
Last week, Jerry Jeudy obliterated his former team, totaling nine receptions on 13 targets for 235 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 36 half-point PPR fantasy points. However, he finished third on the team in targets behind David Njoku (17) and Elijah Moore (14). The former Ole Miss star had eight receptions for 111 receiving yards and 15.2 fantasy points against the Denver Broncos. He has averaged 5.7 receptions on nine targets for 66 receiving yards and 11.5 fantasy points per game since the Browns’ Week 10 bye.
Furthermore, Moore has been a solid flex option since Jameis Winston took over under center. The veteran has averaged 9.6 targets and 10.2 fantasy points per game in Winston’s five starts, scoring 12.5 or more in 60% of the contests. Meanwhile, the Steelers have one of the top pass defenses in the NFL. However, they gave up 11 or more fantasy points to three Cincinnati Bengal wide receivers last week, including Andrei Iosivas. With Cedric Tillman missing his second consecutive game because of a concussion, Moore has low-end WR2 upside.
Brandin Cooks (WR – DAL) vs. Cincinnati Bengals (12.9% Rostered)
There isn’t much to like about the Cowboys’ offense with Dak Prescott on the sidelines. CeeDee Lamb told the media earlier this week that he will play Monday night against the Bengals. However, the star wide receiver is far from 100% healthy. Meanwhile, Cooks returned to the lineup on Thanksgiving against the New York Giants after missing the previous seven games with a knee injury. While he scored only 9.1 half-point PPR fantasy points against the division rivals, fantasy players should feel confident starting him in Week 14.
The veteran had Dallas’ only receiving touchdown last week. More importantly, Cooks led the team with seven targets, posting a 37% target per route run rate, a 19.4% target share, and a 22.2% first-read target share in the win (per Fantasy Points Data). Meanwhile, Cincinnati has surrendered 28 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, the 11th-most in the NFL. Furthermore, they’ve given up 197.3 receiving yards, two touchdowns, and 37.4 fantasy points per game to wide receivers over their past three contests, allowing 32.4 or more in every matchup.
Grant Calcaterra (TE – PHI) vs. Carolina Panthers (1.3% Rostered)
While the Eagles will get DeVonta Smith back this week after missing the past two games with a hamstring injury, they won’t have Dallas Goedert because of a knee injury that has him listed as week-to-week. Therefore, Calcaterra becomes an appealing streaming option in Week 14, especially with six teams on a bye. He hasn’t had a reception since Week 9. However, Calcaterra has been productive with Goedert out of the lineup, averaging 4.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game in the three contests without the star tight end.
More importantly, the veteran took advantage of fantasy-friendly matchups as the starting tight end, totaling eight receptions for 88 receiving yards and 12.8 fantasy points in the two games against the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars with Goedert sidelined. Thankfully, Calcaterra has an appealing matchup on Sunday. The Panthers have surrendered 14.5 fantasy points per game to tight ends, the most in the NFL. They’ve given up at least 98 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 26 fantasy to tight ends in three of their past five games.
