Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Monday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Jack Flaherty (DET) at HOU
According to FanGraphs, among tonight’s probable starters, Jack Flaherty has the lowest ERA (2.63), xERA (3.55), xFIP (3.09), SIERA (2.96) and WHIP (1.02). The veteran righty also has the highest strikeout rate (30.6 K%). Flaherty is unquestionably the best pitcher on tonight’s DFS main slate.
The veteran righty has a plus matchup and decent betting info. The Astros are tied for 24th in wRC+ (87) with a 22.7 K% versus righties and 19th in wRC+ (103) with a 21.4 K% at home in 2025. Additionally, the Tigers are -115, and the game’s total is 8.0 runs.
JP Sears (ATH) at TEX
JP Sears is an unexciting DFS pick. Still, on a slate light on high-end talent, he’s an adequate selection, namely at a cheaper salary than the forthcoming pitcher at DraftKings. In five starts spanning 28 innings this year, Sears has had the following stats.
- 3.21 ERA
- 3.83 xERA
- 4.36 xFIP
- 3.99 SIERA
- 1.11 WHIP
- Three wins
- Three quality starts
- 5.2 BB%
- 19.8 K%
Sears doesn’t have a pristine profile. Nevertheless, it’s rock-solid, and he has a favorable matchup and palatable betting info.
The Rangers are tied for 17th in wRC+ (86) with a 25.9 K% versus lefties and tied for 23rd in wRC+ (93) with a 21.7 K% at home this season. The Athletics are -110, and the game’s total is 9.0 runs.
Dustin May (LAD) vs. MIA
Dustin May is another solid-if-unspectacular pitching selection tonight. Among tonight’s probable starters, May has the fourth-best ERA (3.68), third-best xERA (3.67) and third-best xFIP (3.69). LA’s righty also has a 1.18 WHIP and 20.7 K% in four starts spanning 22 innings.
May can thrive in a tasty matchup tonight. The Marlins are 23rd in wRC+ (89) with a 24.7 K% versus righties and tied for 18th in wRC+ (84) with a 26.0 K% on the road this season.

Suggested Lineup Stacks
The Rockies have a mouthwatering matchup tonight in their hitter-friendly home ballpark. In four starts this year, Bryce Elder has been lit up for a 5.57 ERA, 4.50 xERA, 4.51 xFIP, 4.66 SIERA and 2.14 HR/9. Since last year, he’s coughed up a .389 wOBA to lefties and a .353 wOBA to righties. Colorado should crush him.
- Road (Globe Life Field)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 9.0 Runs/ATH -110
In three starts this year, Patrick Corbin has a 3.77 ERA. However, his 4.91 xERA, 4.26 xFIP and 4.56 SIERA indicate he was lucky. The veteran lefty’s body of work over the previous handful of seasons also suggests his ERA is due for significant regression. Among qualified pitchers since 2021, Corbin’s 5.67 ERA is the second-highest. The right-handed batters for the Athletics have the best opportunity to explode. The 666 righties who’ve faced Corbin since last season have had a .371 wOBA.
Core Studs
- In 341 plate appearances against lefties since 2023, Brent Rooker has had 22 homers, a .358 OBP, .273 ISO and 154 wRC+.
- In 399 career plate appearances against righties at home, Brenton Doyle has had 18 homers, a .311 OBP, .221 ISO and .335 wOBA.
- Michael Toglia is a matchup- and park-factor-driven pick at DraftKings, but less appealing on FanDuel. In 288 career plate appearances against righties at home, Toglia has had a .326 OBP, .158 ISO and .314 wOBA.
Value Plays/Punts
- In 27 games and 106 plate appearances this season, Jacob Wilson has three homers, 15 runs, 14 RBIs, one stolen base, a .340 OBP, .144 ISO and 135 wRC+.
- Jordan Beck is having a monstrous season at the dish. In 17 games and 54 plate appearances this year, Beck has five homers, nine runs, 10 RBIs, four stolen bases, a .352 OBP, .370 ISO, .414 wOBA and 151 wRC+. He’s comically underpriced at DraftKings and reasonably priced at FanDuel.
- In 107 plate appearances against southpaws since 2023, Luis Urias has four homers, a .333 OBP, .182 ISO and 110 wRC+.
