Round 1 Dynasty Rookie Draft Picks
Pick 1.01 – Ashton Jeanty (RB – LV)
Even before the 2025 NFL Draft, former Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty was widely regarded as the consensus 1.01 pick in all formats. After being selected sixth overall by the Las Vegas Raiders, nothing has changed. While quarterback-needy teams may consider Titans quarterback Cam Ward in Superflex formats, don’t overthink this one in 1-QB rookie drafts.
Pick 1.02 – Omarion Hampton (RB – LAC)
While sharing snaps with Najee Harris in his first year may not be ideal, Los Angeles Chargers running back Omarion Hampton remains the early RB2 in dynasty rookie drafts. He’s a tier below Jeanty in overall talent, but Hampton has the size (6-foot-0, 220 pounds), hands and playing style to excel as a three-down back at the next level.
Pick 1.03 – Travis Hunter (WR, CB – JAX)
Entering the 2025 NFL Draft, I was lower than consensus on wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter. This wasn’t due to a lack of talent, but rather because we didn’t know how he would be utilized at the next level.
After being selected second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, we have a clearer understanding of the plan. With Hunter expected to spend more time on offense than defense to begin his career, he’s in contention to be the WR1 in this class.
Pick 1.04 – Tetairoa McMillan (WR – CAR)
With Travis Hunter possibly dividing his time between offense and defense, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is the safe option at receiver to target in 2025 rookie drafts. There’s some concern over his ability to separate from NFL cornerbacks, but he should soak up plenty of contested targets as Bryce Young‘s No. 1 WR.
Pick 1.05 – Quinshon Judkins (RB – CLE)
Though not as refined in the passing game as Buckeyes teammate TreVeyon Henderson, running back Quinshon Judkins brings more of a punch to the running back room. He’s a decisive, power runner with the physicality to withstand the wear and tear of the NFL. Having secured second-round draft capital, he is now poised to earn bell-cow back duties in Cleveland.
Pick 1.06 – TreVeyon Henderson (RB – NE)
TreVeyon Henderson is a compact running back with tremendous long speed. He excels on third down, where he is an elite pass protector and has reliable hands in the passing game. New England used the 38th overall pick on Henderson, meaning he should immediately compete with mistake-prone Rhamondre Stevenson for No. 1 RB duties.
Pick 1.07 – RJ Harvey (RB – DEN)
Most mock drafts had the Denver Broncos eyeing Omarion Hampton with their first-round selection, but they waited until late on Day Two to address their biggest need. They still landed one of the draft’s most explosive backs, using the 60th overall selection on running back RJ Harvey.
The former UCF standout is older (24 years old) than we would prefer, but he has the potential to step in and contribute immediately.
Pick 1.08 – Emeka Egbuka (WR – TB)
Though he may not be as flashy as others in this class, former Ohio State standout Emeka Egbuka is a technically sound wide receiver who wins outside and across the middle of the field. He is intelligent, reliable and one of the best route-runners in the class.
Unfortunately, Egbuka was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he’ll be competing with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin for targets. It may take a year or two to see significant results, but I still believe in the talent.
Pick 1.09 – Matthew Golden (WR – GB)
After running a 4.29 in the 40-yard dash, wide receiver Matthew Golden was one of the NFL Draft’s biggest risers in recent months. After being selected 23rd overall by the Green Bay Packers, there’s no reason for that momentum to slow down anytime soon. The Packers are desperate for a No. 1 WR to emerge, and Golden brings a different dynamic to their offense.
Pick 1.10 – Colston Loveland (TE – CHI)
Most draft analysts had Penn State’s Tyler Warren ranked as the TE1, but former Michigan tight end Colston Loveland heard his name called first. Warren was selected four picks later, but Loveland’s quarterback situation elevates him above Warren in this dynasty rookie mock draft.
Even if you’re not the biggest Caleb Williams fan, it’s hard to argue he isn’t a better option than the Colts’ duo of Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones.
