Closer News & Notes

Robert Suarez continues to hold onto his major league lead in saves as he now has 12 on the season. Andres Munoz is right behind him with 11 saves and has yet to allow a run this season.

Following his struggles in his return from the injured list, Alexis Diaz was optioned back to Triple-A on Thursday. Emilio Pagan continues to hold a firm grasp on the closer role in the Reds bullpen.

The Yankees removed Devin Williams from the closer role, which has led to  Luke Weaver seeing some save chances. However, Williams has posted three straight scoreless appearances, so it is possible he sees another chance in the closer role soon.

The Diamondbacks placed both Justin Martinez and A.J. Puk on the injured list. It is currently a committee for saves in their bullpen between Shelby Miller and Kevin Ginkel.
