Fantasy Baseball Prospect Report
I won’t hit on every prospect every week, but will focus on the most relevant prospects throughout the week and will follow up with other notable players. This article will not focus on any AAAA-type players or veterans in the Minors who have outlived their prospect status.
NOTE: Rookie status is determined by 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched at the Major League level. All stats are up-to-date as of Monday, July 14th.
Full Top 150 Prospect Rankings:
MLB Pitchers
- 2024 College: 100 IP | 191 Ks, 30 BBs | 2.70 ERA, 0.92 WHIP
- 2025 MILB: 66 IP | 35.3 K-BB%, 17.7 SwStr%, 35.2% CSW | 1.77 ERA, 0.77 WHIP
- 2025 MLB: 16 IP | 21.6 K-BB%, 12.3 SwStr%, 27% CSW | 6.19 ERA, 1.63 WHIP
- This Week: 10 2/3 IP | 17 Ks, 7 BBs | 2.53 ERA, 1.22 WHIP
- Age: 21
- ETA: Late 2025
- fScores: 120 fStuff, 109 fControl, 134 fERA
- Comp: Hunter Greene/Dylan Cease mash-up
- Prime Skills: Chase Burns has an insane fastball/slider combo that could be one of the best in baseball. He’s bigger than some of the other pitchers with this type of fastball/slider combo, like Jared Jones and Spencer Strider. He could also just be a better version of Jones. The fastball ranges from 98-102 with a ton of ride running an over 19 induced vertical break (IVB), while his slider runs 87-89 as the primary swing-and-miss pitch. The curveball is also a plus-pitch.
- Player Notes: Burns got blown up in one start and will even out a bit – he’s a stud.
34. Jacob Misiorowski (SP – MIL)
- 2024 AA: 97 1/3 IP | 16.1 K-BB%, 14.1 SwStr%, 30.7 CSW% | 3.33 ERA, 1.20 WHIP
- 2025 MILB: 53 1/3 IP | 19.4 K-BB%, 14.7 SwStr%, 30.2 CSW% | 2.13 ERA, 1.09 WHIP
- 2025 MLB: 25 2/3 IP | 22.4 K-BB%, 13.6 SwStr%, 28.6% CSW | 2.81 ERA, 0.90 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 12 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
- Age: 23
- Comp: Young Tyler Glasnow with worse control
- ETA: Early 2025
- fScores (pre-season): 108 fStuff, 88 fControl, 135 fERA (as a starter)
- Prime Skills: Jacob Misiorowski has a killer fastball that he has gotten up to 103 miles per hour (MPH), and it’s at an odd arm angle (15.5% SwStr% on it in 2025), so it’s difficult to pick up with an elite slider in his pocket as well. He’s had some control issues, especially as a starter, but has seemed to have improved starting in the second half of last year. He has had marked improvement this season, just as many were about to give up on him as a starter.
- Player Notes: It’s amazing how much Misiorowski’s command has improved as he jumped to the Majors. He’s still a little wild in a Blake Snell-ish way, but he is so good that he pitches around it.

AAA Hitters
5. Samuel Basallo (C, 1B – BAL)
- 2024 AA/AAA: .278/.341/.449 | 8.6 BB%, 21.1 K% | 44 XBH, 19 HR, 10 SB
- 2025 AAA: .264/.383/.591 | 15.4 BB%, 21.7 K% | 30 XBH, 19 HR, 0 SB
- This Week: 7/18 | 6 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 20
- ETA: Early 2026
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Kyle Schwarber with a better hit tool
- Prime Skills: Samuel Basallo has solid plate discipline, great power and is young for his level. He saw some regression in 2024 on the batted ball data, as he was not lifting the ball in the air enough to reach his power potential. He’s been dinged in the plate skills category, seeing a decent increase in swinging strike and strikeout rates, while also seeing an even larger decrease in walk rate. Basallo is built for his age with fast hands, but a tight/weird batting stance. He will likely move off the catcher position full-time because of Adley Rutschman. Oddly, he has a 23.9% barrel rate but only an 11.3% line drive rate. I’ve never seen such a discrepancy between those two numbers, which means most of his barrels are in the air and most of his non-barrels are on the ground (48% groundball rate), which needs correcting.
- Player Notes: Basallo is a beast, power-wise, and will likely be on the Junior Caminero call-up timeline. I would expect a little later in August to keep eligibility into next year.
- 2024 AA: .259/.336/.452 | 9.9 BB%, 36.8 K% | 53 XBH, 17 HR, 25 SB
- 2025 AA (as of 5/27/25): .228/.372/.554 | 17.7 BB%, 36.3 K% | 12 XBH, 9 HR, 6 SB (25 gms)
- This Week: 10/30 | 4 XBH, 4 HR, 4 SB
- Age: 24
- ETA: Late 2025
- fScores: 87 fContact, 74 fDiscipline, 144 fPower, 142 fSpeed
- Comp: Joey Gallo
- Prime Skills: Spencer Jones is huge at 6-foot-6 and has ridiculous power potential with decent speed to boot. He has a ton of sneaky speed to go along with the huge power potential, but the swing has some massive holes in it and has gotten progressively worse (73.2% contact rate in 2023, 61.6% in 2024 and 58.6% in 2025). He changed his stance this season, which has resulted in a better eye, but an even worse hit tool, as he has this very open and crouched stance now.
- Player Notes: Jones is hot right now and could be called up if the Yankees want to get aggressive post-trade deadline.
- 2024 AAA: .278/.375/.472 | 12.9 BB%, 28.4 K% | 51 XBH, 19 HR, 11 SB
- 2025 AAA: .278/.386/.575 | 14 BB%, 30.2 K% | 41 XBH, 19 HR, 3 SB
- This Week: 6/17 | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Late 2025
- fScores (May): 92 fContact, 91 fDiscipline, 107 fPower, 88 fSpeed
- Comp: Cody Bellinger meets Joey Gallo
- Prime Skills: The power is legit for this big lefty outfielder (115.5 max exit velocity last year and around a 93.5 average exit with a 108.3 90th percentile exit), but Owen Caissie’s hit tool (66.6% contact rate and 75.7% Z-Contact%) and plate skills need some serious work. There is a lot of power potential here; however, it will likely come in a strong-side platoon role. His numbers against lefties are horrendous with a .189/.362/.351 slash against same-handed pitching.
- Player Notes: Caissie had a very nice Futures Game on top of being super hot from June on.
- Season: .309/.399/.597 | 13.1 BB% / 20 K% | 49 XBH, 24 HR, 12 SB
- This Week: 12/26 | 7 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Ryan Ward is not a prospect per se, as a 27-year-old, but he’s putting up the best season in the Minors this year and should be in line for a call-up at some point.
AAA Pitchers
- 2024 AA/AAA: 119 2/3 IP | 22.3 K-BB%, 13.6 SwStr%, 29.5 CSW% | 3.08 ERA, 1.02 WHIP
- 2025 AAA: 73 1/3 IP | 18 K-BB%, 12.8 SwStr%, 30.5 CSW% | 2.82 ERA, 1.30 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP
- Age: 22
- ETA: Late 2025
- fScores: 107 fStuff, 98 fControl, 137fERA
- Comp: Luis Gil with a Zack Wheeler slider
- Prime Skills: Big fastball and slider pitcher, Bubba Chandler was known as a dual-sport athlete who is now finally focusing on baseball rather than football. A lot of upside here as he has never been focused only on baseball until a couple of years ago; he had committed to Clemson to play quarterback. He throws 98-102 MPH with a 12/6 killer vertical slider and a sick change-up with nice fade that tunnels well against his other two pitches.
- Player Notes: Chandler is coming off back-to-back great starts, but my guess is we don’t see him until September to hold his eligibility.
46. Logan Henderson (SP – MIL)
- 2024 CPX/A+/AA/AAA: 81 1/3 IP | 28.1 K-BB%, 15 SwStr%, 31.6 CSW% | 3.32 ERA, 0.91 WHIP
- 2025 AAA: 68 2/3 IP | 22.1 K-BB%, 14.5 SwStr%, 30.3 CSW% | 3.01 ERA, 1.05 WHIP
- 2025 MLB: 21 IP | 28.4 K-BB%, 12.9 SwStr%, 25.4 CSW% | 1.71 ERA, 0.95 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.33 WHIP
- Age: 23
- ETA: Debuted
- fScores: 105 fStuff, 106 fControl, 110 fERA
- Comp: Spencer Strider-lite mash-up with Michael Wacha
- Prime Skills: Logan Henderson is of slight build (5-foot-11) and has jumped up a couple of levels already this season after destroying at Low-A most of last season. He has excellent command and a nice fastball/change-up combo. The fastball runs 94-96 MPH, and the change-up is one of the better change-ups in the Minors. On a pitch level, Henderson has thrown the fastball more in the Minors than in the Majors (52% vs. 47%) and has a 15.8% SwStr% on it in the Majors (94th percentile) against a 20.2% SwStr% at AAA. He has been throwing the cutter more in the Minors as well, and the change-up was getting thrown 41% of the time in the Majors and only 29% of the time in the Minors.
- 2024 CPX/A+: 76 IP | 21.2 K-BB%, 15.8 SwStr%, 32 CSW% | 2.84 ERA, 1.04 WHIP
- 2025 AA/AAA: 87 IP | 15.7 K-BB%, 11.1 SwStr%, 29.4 CSW% | 2.17 ERA, 1.17 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 10 Ks, 3 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
- Age: 23
- ETA: Late 2025
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Tanner Bibee / Luis Severino mash
- Prime Skills: Nolan McLean is focusing on pitching for the first year of his Minor League career, and we are seeing an uptick in the effectiveness of his stuff. His arsenal includes a mediocre mid-90s fastball (that tops out at 98), an elite late-breaking sweeper with a unique hard cut at the tail end of the pitch, with a fantastic sinker that sits in the mid-90s. He also has a 17.4% SwStr% in AAA along with an 88-90 MPH cutter, an 85-88 MPH change-up and a low-80s curveball he will drop in now and then.
- Player Notes: McLean has not been getting as many strikeouts as you would expect with that monster slider. Like most of the pitchers in AAA, it’s been a tough transition to figure out the tighter strike zone and automated ball-strike challenge system (ABS). However, 10 strikeouts in two consecutive starts and making the list two weeks in a row is a sign he could be up sooner, rather than later.
- Arsenal:
- 85-87 MPH SW – 60/70
- 94-98 MPH FA – 50/55
- 93-95 MPH SI – 55/60
- 88-90 MPH FC – 40/50
- 78-80 MPH CU – 55/60
- 85-88 MPH CH – 40/50
- 2025 Season: 71 1/3 IP | 25.2 K-BB%, 14.8 SwStr%, 31 CSW% | 3.15 ERA, 1.22 WHIP
- This Week: 5 2/3 IP | 8 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.71 WHIP
- Notes: Troy Melton has been incredibly unlucky this season, but he has been on fire over the last few weeks. He has a strong plus arsenal with very good fastball command. He has a good, athletic build at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds with a 3/4 arm slot from the right side. The fastball has some very nice ride from a lower release point, making it very deceptive with a very sharp, horizontally breaking slider.
- Arsenal:
- 95-99 MPH FB – 60 grade (15.6% SwStr%)
- 88-91 MPH FC – 60 grade (17.4% SwStr%)
- 85-86 MPH SL – 50/60 grade (19% SwStr%)
- 88-90 MPH CH – not a good pitch right now
- 78-80 MPH CU – 40/45 grade – good command, poor swing and miss
AA Hitters
- 2023 A/A+/AA: .263/.425/.451 | 43 XBH, 13 HR, 45 SB
- 2024 A/AA/AAA: .215/.358/.298 | 14.9 BB%, 23.6 K% | 9 XBH, 0 HR, 5 SB (33 games)
- 2025 MILB: .288/.396/.495 | 14.7 BB%, 22.2 K% | 37 XBH, 8 HR, 26 SB
- This Week: 10/26 | 6 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
- Age: 21
- ETA: Mid 2026
- fScores (pre-season): 86 fContact, 146 fDiscipline, 78 fPower, 148 fSpeed
- Comp: Jose Altuve build, Bryson Stott-like production
- Prime Skills: Jett Williams has plate skills and speed. The contact tool is still developing, but should ultimately be a good tool for Williams, as he has gotten the hit tool back to his pre-injury 2023 levels with an 80.1% contact rate. He has non-zero power and his quick swing leads to a surprising number of extra-base hits.
- Player Notes: Williams has had an electric season. He doesn’t have a ton of power, but he could be up at some point this year.
125. Kaelen Culpepper (SS – MIN)
- 2024 A/A+: .242/.330/.394 | 9.8 BB%, 13.4 K% | 8 XBH, 3 HR, 4 SB
- 2025 MILB: .311/.398/.488 | 10.8 BB% / 16 K% | 24 XBH, 12 HR, 18 SB
- This Week: 10/16 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: 2027
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Dansby Swanson
- Prime Skills: Kaelen Culpepper is showing a very nice hit tool and a plus plate approach this season with a little power and speed on the side. Culpepper is running a plus contact rate at 78%, but he has had a pretty rough time against lefties, though it’s not enough of a concern that he has potential platoon issues. He has great bat speed and a really sweet swing that portends to some nice pull power.
- Player Notes: Culpepper is sneakily one of the more underrated, great players from the draft last season.
- Season: .279/.366/.446 | 11.7 BB% / 15.8 K% | 21 XBH, 11 HR, 9 SB
- This Week: 9/21 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Ricardo Olivar has had a heck of a bat throughout his Minor League career.
AA Pitchers
- 2025 Season: 27 2/3 IP | 34 K-BB%, 19.3 SwStr%, 36.6 CSW% | 1.63 ERA, 0.80 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 10 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP
- Notes: I’m a big Kendry Rojas fan; he’s having a great season despite this only being his second time on the list all year.
- 2025 Season: 80 IP | 16.9 K-BB%, 10.8 SwStr%, 28.7 CSW% | 2.36 ERA, 1.18 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
- Notes: Ixan Henderson isn’t a big stuff/swing-and-miss guy, but he is good at generating bad contact and has been able to do it all year.
A+ Hitters
- Season: .260/.324/.481 | 6.3 BB% / 26.3 K% | 14 XBH, 10 HR, 9 SB
- This Week: 9/25 | 6 XBH, 4 HR, 1 SB
- Notes: P.J. Hilson is a bit older (24) at this level, but he has put up some decent power/speed numbers on the year and is worth keeping an eye on despite some terrible plate skills.
- Season: .278/.379/.492 | 12.7 BB% / 15.7 K% | 28 XBH, 11 HR, 14 SB
- This Week: 9/32 | 6 XBH, 4 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Jefferson Rojas has been in and out of my top 150 rankings over the last couple of years. He’s a Major Leaguer, but probably only as a replacement-level starter. He’s still only 20 years old, though, and has a career-high home run total already this year, so the power is developing.
- Season: .242/.365/.478 | 15.9 BB% / 30 K% | 33 XBH, 13 HR, 33 SB
- This Week: 13/27 | 7 XBH, 3 HR, 2 SB
- Notes: Carson Roccaforte reminds me of an Astros prospect with his blend of power and speed, but also a very high strikeout rate.
A+ Pitchers
- 2025 Season: 55 2/3 IP | 22.4 K-BB%, 15.8 SwStr%, 33.6 CSW% | 3.40 ERA, 1.19 WHIP
- This Week: 4 2/3 IP | 10 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.93 ERA, 1.07 WHIP
- Notes: Christian Oppor has a quick, flick-type 3/4 release point from the left side with 94-98 MPH velocity on the fastball with ride to combo with a plus slider. This is his third time on the list now and second week in a row.
- Arsenal:
- 94-98 MPH FA – 55/60
- 78-82 MPH SL – 60/60
- 82-83 MPH CH – 40/50
- 2025 Season: 91 1/3 IP | 18.2 K-BB%, 13.5 SwStr%, 32.1 CSW% | 3.15 ERA, 1.19 WHIP
- This Week: 7 IP | 8 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.29 ERA, 0.86 WHIP
- Notes: Konner Eaton is an athletically-built sixth-rounder out of George Mason with a standard lefty 3/4 armslot who has shown to have a very effective slider that he throws 86-89 and a big fastball that he throws 94-97. He should probably be in AA shortly. He struck out Slade Caldwell three times this week on the slider. The issue with Eaton is that he has two fantastic pitches, and there is bullpen risk as he’s attempting to develop a change-up. There was talk of him jumping to the Majors fast in the pen, ala Seth Halvorsen. This is Eaton’s second time on the list.
- Arsenal:
- 94-97 MPH FB 50/55
- 86-89 MPH 65/70
- No data on the CH
- 2025 Season: 52 IP | 13 K-BB%, 14.8 SwStr%, 29.7 CSW% | 3.29 ERA, 1.38 WHIP
- This Week: 5 2/3 IP | 11 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.18 ERA, 1.24 WHIP
- Notes: This is Karson Milbrandt’s second time on the list this season.
- 2025 Season: 85 1/3 IP | 18.8 K-BB%, 14.3 SwStr%, 30.3 CSW% | 1.69 ERA, 1.02 WHIP
- This Week: 7 IP | 9 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.69 ERA, 1.14 WHIP
- Notes: This is Griffin Herring’s second time on the list this year; he does not have high velocity and runs based on a solid pitch mix of good breakers.
- 2025 Season: 76 IP | 9.7 K-BB%, 11.3 SwStr%, 29.7 CSW% | 2.37 ERA, 1.13 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.67 WHIP
- Notes: Kyle Carr is a 23-year-old fastball/slider pitcher who may have a longer-term future in the pen if he can make the bigs.
A Hitters
89. Rainiel Rodriguez (C – STL)
- 2024 DSL: .345/.462/.683 | 16.3 BB%, 13.6 K% | 25 XBH, 10 HR, 1 SB
- 2025 CPX/A: .276/.404/.571 | 15.8 BB%, 19.2 K% | 27 XBH, 10 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 7/17 (4 BBs) | 5 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 18
- ETA: 2028
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Agustin Ramirez (love when I comp a prospect to a prospect)
- Prime Skills: Rainiel Rodriguez has big-time power potential with insane exit velocities as a 17-year-old in the Dominican Summer League (DSL) and a sweet transition to the Florida Complex League (CPX) with a plus plate approach as well as crazy pull power, despite some lower contact numbers and higher swinging strike rates. These things usually regress closer positively and negatively toward the mean once the player is in Single-A ball.
- Player Notes: I’ve seen Rodriguez a few times in person now, and each time I see him, he is getting more comfortable at the Low-A level. I witnessed him first-hand mash a pitch that was the longest homer I’ve seen by a Minor-Leaguer in three years of living in Jupiter.
- Season: .325/.429/.613 | 15.1 BB% / 21.1 K% | 25 XBH, 10 HR, 18 SB
- This Week: 8/23 (9 BBs) | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 6 SB
- Notes: Edward Florentino has been one of the big breakout guys this year and is showing a better hit tool in his small sample size at Single-A ball. This is his second consecutive week on the list, and we have to start asking if Florentino is as good (or better) than prospects like Jesus Made and Luis Pena.
Raudi Rodriguez (OF – LAA)
- Season: .251/.341/.449 | 10.5 BB% / 24.7 K% | 33 XBH, 10 HR, 22 SB
- This Week: 8/29 | 6 XBH, 4 HR, 2 SB
- Notes: Raudi Rodriguez is old for Low-A, at 22 years old and seven days, but he is an intriguing name and as an Angels prospect. They will probably move him fast once they realize they have an interesting prospect in their system. He has 11 triples on the season.
A Pitchers
- 2025 Season: 69 IP | 16 K-BB%, 16.8 SwStr%, 33.1 CSW% | 3.26 ERA, 1.35 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 11 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
- Notes: Braden Davis has made this list twice now. Despite having barely 91-92 MPH velocity, he has a killer change-up and solid slider/cutter combo.
- 2025 Season: 33 IP | 30 K-BB%, 19.2 SwStr%, 35.5 CSW% | 1.91 ERA, 1.24 WHIP
- This Week: 4 IP | 7 Ks, 3 BBs | 2.25 ERA, 2.00 WHIP
- Notes: I caught Johnny King for the first time this week. Check out some video on my X to see the young lefty throwing 94-96 with a very nice slider.
Rookie League Hitters
- Season: .265/.351/.537 | 9.5 BB% / 23.2 K% | 21 XBH, 9 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 9/20 | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 1 SB
- Notes: Arnoldo Lantigua came over to the Reds in a trade this offseason that gave the Dodgers an additional $1.5 million in international bonus pool money for Roki Sasaki. Considering the Reds paid some good money for Lantigua, I think he’s a name to watch, especially considering he was originally scouted by the Dodgers. I’ll probably catch him in the Florida State League (FSL) later this year.
Rookie League Pitchers
Kendry Chourio (SP – KC)
- 2025 Season: 21 2/3 IP | 34.1 K-BB%, 17.4 SwStr%, 37.1 CSW% | 2.08 ERA, 0.78 WHIP
- This Week: 4 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
- Notes: I usually don’t care about DSL pitchers, but Kendry Chourio has been phenomenal and has topped out at 96 MPH as a 17-year-old. This is his second consecutive week on the list. Look to see if he plays in Low-A now that the CPX season is over.
DSL Hitters
- Season: .344/.500/.677 | 22.7 BB% / 23.4 K% | 16 XBH, 7 HR, 6 SB
- This Week: 6/19 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Edgar Montero has now made this list twice, and he might be my favorite player in the DSL this year.
