Closer News & Notes

Robert Suarez maintains his league lead in saves with 32 on the season. Despite the addition of Mason Miller, he has remained in his primary closer role, with Miller now in a set-up role. Miller will continue to be available for save situations on nights when Suarez is not available.

Jhoan Duran and Kyle Finnegan are both perfect in save situations since their trades.

Despite Aaron Boone suggesting Devin Williams would remain in his closer role following the trade deadline, he has struggled mightily over the past week. David Bednar recorded the last save and appears to potentially have the edge over Williams and Camilo Doval.

Robert Garcia remained the closer in the Rangers’ bullpen despite their two bullpen additions at the deadline, and he has also struggled over the past week. It is a committee for now.
