Fantasy Football Mock Draft: TE Premium (2025)

Fantasy Football Mock Draft: TE Premium (2025)

If you’re finding the scoring of your fantasy league a little flat, perhaps consider giving things a boost by using tight end premium. One of the great advantages of this format is that it gives a kick-start to the worst position in fantasy… that is, unless you have kickers and defense in your league. With an extra 0.5 points per reception (or more if you’re feeling spicy), the tight ends can be difference makers at the top, and not be quite as dull the rest of the way. In this fantasy football mock draft, we’ll see how drastic the ADP landscape changes when we utilize TE Premium Settings.

The key difference for our mock draft is to tweak the settings, which is easily achieved if you’re using the FantasyPros Mock Draft Wizard. In the positional values section, make sure to set TE to the ‘very high’ setting.

Early Rounds

The mock draft wizard assigns us pick three with Ja’Marr Chase and Bijan Robinson selected before us. There are plenty of ways we could go here, but the most fun is with Brock Bowers, who almost broke Zach Ertz‘s record for most tight end targets in a season with 153, only three short of tying the record. Bowers did, though, break the rookie record for receptions with 112 and now gets a massive upgrade to both his coaching staff and quarterback. Taking Bowers here is probably a little higher than he should go, but if we hit on our WRs and RBs, we have the best TE in the game who will see huge volume and return strong points totals every week.

Thanks to tight ends being pushed up the board (oops), AJ Brown falls to us at the 2.10, before Jonathan Taylor makes it to us in the third round. These subtle differences in ADP, thanks to three tight ends going in the first two rounds, have made our bet on Bowers look even better. Through three rounds, we have an elite tight end, an elite wide receiver on one of the best offenses in football, and a running back who has shown us his league-winning ceiling previously and who single-handedly won some teams’ titles in the fantasy playoffs last year.

We round out the early rounds with DJ Moore, TreVeyon Henderson and Jameson Williams, giving this roster some experience and reliability along with massive upside in both Henderson and Williams.

Middle Rounds

If this was best ball, we might need to consider a second tight end here, but in redraft, we can feel safe and secure with our Brock Bowers security blanket and plow on. Zay Flowers seems to divide opinion this year, but if he gets some red zone positive regression, then he could be a fine value in Round 7, having caught only two of his seven targets there last year. Zach Charbonnet becomes a more valuable RB2 every day we get closer to the season, with Kenneth Walker missing practices. In games without Walker last year, Charbonnet finished as the RB1, 7 and 8. That’s plenty good enough for us in Round 8. In Round 9, we grab Emeka Egbuka, who was an exciting enough prospect for 2025 before Jalen McMillan got hurt, compounding the Bucs’ woes after Chris Godwin has been slow to recover from his dislocated ankle fracture. Egbuka can play both inside and out and now walks into an every-down role from day one, a further lesson to dynasty managers to not worry about landing spot. In Round 10, we add another rookie in Cam Skattebo, who likely climbs in ADP slightly now that he’s back at practice, having been in line for the goal line role before he missed the last couple of weeks.

Late-Rounds

In Round 11 we add Josh Downs. Only 15 receivers had a higher yards per route run among those with 50+ catches, and those names included 13 players who finished inside the top 24 wide receivers. Josh Downs is good, no matter the quarterback. In Round 12, we take the most underrated handcuff in fantasy football, Tyler Allgeier. Currently, 18 different offenses see more than one RB drafted before Allgeier comes off the board, which is pretty wild for a guy who finished 10th in explosive run rate in 2024 and ranked seventh in juke rate. Eventually, in Round 13, we take our quarterback in Brock Purdy before adding a defense and kicker in the final two rounds.

Results

The Mock Draft Wizard awarded us a solid B+, but didn’t care for our Brock Bowers selection, advocating for CeeDee Lamb instead. You can check out the rest of the Wizard’s analysis and start your own mock draft here.
