Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Zero RB Strategy & Targets (2025)

Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Zero RB Strategy & Targets (2025)

Welcome to our 10-team PPR fantasy football mock draft from the #1 overall spot, where we’ll be leaning into a Zero RB strategy. Instead of taking a running back at the top, the plan is to secure an elite wide receiver and continue stacking pass-catchers who thrive in PPR formats. By waiting on running backs, we’ll target depth and upside later in the draft while building a strong weekly floor through consistent receptions. Let’s see how the Zero RB approach unfolds from the very first pick!

With our first four picks we grabbed the best pass-catchers available starting with the WR1, Ja’Marr Chase.

2025 Fantasy Football Draft Kit

Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Zero RB Strategy

1.01 Ja’Marr Chase (WR-CIN)

2.10 Brock Bowers (TE – LV)

Usually I am targeting Trey McBride, Drake London, or Ladd McConkey here, but was lucky to grab the TE1 in Brock Bowers.

3.01 Ladd McConkey (WR-LAC)

I love McConkey in PPR formats as he is a target hog as the WR position runs pretty thin in Los Angeles. McConkey hauled in 80+ catches last years and I am expecting closer to 100 this year.

4.10 Davante Adams (WR – LAR)

Adams should see an uptick in production this year after signing with the Rams, a much mkre WR-friendly offensive system, plus a major upgrade at the QB position with Matt Stafford.

From here, I really focused on building up the RB position, using the next 3 of 4 picks on starting RBs, but first I had to take advantage of one of the best Fantasy QBs falling to the 5th round.

5.01 Jalen Hurts (QB – PHI)

6.10 Tony Pollard (RB – TEN)

7.01 D’Andre Swift (RB – CHI)

8.10 Aaron Jones (RB – MIN)

9.01 Ricky Pearsall (WR – SF)

I thought about going RB against here with Tyrone Tracy still on the board, but Ricky Pearsall is in for a huge year.

With Deebo Samuel gone and Brandon Aiyuk still recovering from his injury, Ricky Pearsall enters 2025 as the #1 WR in one of the best offenses in the NFL.

10.10 Jordan Mason (RB – MIN)

With many starting RBs off the board at this point, there were a plethora of backups or handcuffs worth taking a look at.

I drafted Aaron Jones and in my opinion it’s only a matter of time before Mason takes over the lead role in Minnesota.

11.01 TJ Hockenson (TE – MINN)

Having Brock Bowers already there on my team, there really is no reason to take another TE, but Hockenson falling nearly five or six rounds past his normal ADP, I had to take him from a pure value standpoint.

12.10 Jacory Croskey-Merritt (RB – WAS)

“Bill”, as he likes to go by, has been climbing up draft boards over the last several days, and for good reason, but with the recent trade of Brian Robinson Jr., he will have even more value later in drafts, even if he doesn’t see the field right away. He’s a guy worth stashing!

13.01 Luther Burden (WR – CHI)

He may be buried on the depth chart and will have a lot of competition in Chicago but if either Rome Odunze or DJ Moore miss any time, Burden will have plenty of opportunities.

Additionally, being in a Ben Johnson offense, you never know who emerges from week-to-week.

14.10 Cameron Dicker (K – LAC)
