Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Tuesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Paul Skenes isn’t my favorite pitcher in cash games tonight since he has a challenging matchup and a sizable salary. According to FanGraphs, the Brewers are tied for ninth in wRC+ (106) with a 20.6 K% versus righties and 19th in wRC+ (102) with a 21.4 K% at home in 2025. Milwaukee was also second in wRC+ (131) with an 18.8 K% in the previous 30 days.
Still, Skenes has the highest ceiling on this slate since he’s an elite hurler, making him an exciting GPP selection. Among qualified pitchers in 2025, Skenes has the lowest ERA (1.94), the second-lowest xERA (2.49), the ninth-lowest xFIP (3.02) and the sixth-lowest SIERA (3.11). He also has a 0.93 WHIP and 28.9 K% in 24 starts this season. Finally, while the Pirates are slight underdogs (+101), the game’s total is a pitcher-friendly 7.0 runs.
Jack Flaherty is a rock-solid pitcher on the road. In 137.2 innings on the road since last season, the veteran righty has tallied a 3.92 ERA, 3.27 xFIP, 1.17 WHIP, 7.4 BB% and 29.0 K%. Flaherty has a plus matchup tonight.
The White Sox are tied for 28th in wRC+ (84) with a 22.1 K% versus righties and 27th in wRC+ (86) with a 21.0 K% at home this season. Flaherty can carve them up, and the salary discount he provides gamers from Skenes at DraftKings and FanDuel makes him the most appealing pitcher in cash games tonight and an excellent GPP pick, too.
Among tonight’s probable pitchers, Jacob Lopez has the 10th-lowest ERA (3.59), but his 3.57 xERA is the fifth-lowest. The 27-year-old lefty also has a DFS-friendly 28.2 K% in 18 appearances (14 starts) this season. Moreover, the lefty has done an outstanding job of navigating his hitter-friendly home ballpark. In 37.1 innings at home this year, Lopez has a 3.13 ERA, 3.86 xFIP, 1.23 WHIP, 9.3 BB% and 32.9 K%.
Lopez’s matchup against the Rays tonight is tantalizing. Tampa Bay is 22nd in wRC+ (82) with a 24.1 K% versus lefties and 25th in wRC+ (88) with a 23.5 K% on the road this year. The Rays were also 30th in wRC+ (76) with a 26.3 K% in the previous 30 days. Additionally, the Athletics are -120 favorites. However, the game’s total is concerning at 10.0 runs. Still, Lopez is an outstanding SP2 in all game types at DraftKings and a nifty GPP pick at FanDuel.

Suggested Lineup Stacks
Shane Baz has been unlucky lately. Nevertheless, he’s had an eye-popping 7.40 ERA and allowed 1.48 HR/9 in his last five starts. Baz has also allowed a .330 wOBA to 239 left-handed batters and .337 wOBA to 307 right-handed batters this season, making him an appealing option to use hitters of either handedness against.
- Home (Citi Field)
- Game Total/Moneyline: 8.0 Runs/NYM -130
Spencer Strider isn’t a world-beater anymore, and he’s in mediocre form. The righty has had a 4.35 ERA, 3.99 xFIP, 3.94 WHIP, 1.69 WHIP and allowed 1.74 HR/9 in his previous four starts. Strider has also allowed a .318 wOBA to 166 right-handed batters and a .339 wOBA to 184 left-handed batters this year. So, the Mets could tee off on him.
Core Studs
- Nick Kurtz has eviscerated righties in his rookie season, smashing 19 homers with a .437 OBP, .374 ISO, .483 wOBA and 213 wRC+ in 239 plate appearances against them.
- Corey Seager has hit 17 homers with 50 runs, 43 RBIs, one stolen base, a .373 OBP, .206 ISO, .361 wOBA, .408 xwOBA and 133 wRC+ in 383 plate appearances this season.
- Brandon Nimmo has amassed a .343 OBP, .205 ISO, .344 wOBA and 123 wRC+ against righties since 2023.
Value Plays/Punts
- Matt Shaw‘s bat has exploded in the second half. In 63 plate appearances in the second half, he’s ripped seven round-trippers with 12 runs, 15 RBIs, three stolen bases, a .349 OBP, .443 ISO, .466 wOBA and 208 wRC+.
- Luis Urias has hit seven dongs with a .336 OBP, .130 ISO, .318 wOBA and 100 wRC+ in 249 plate appearances against righties this season.
- Joc Pederson is having a miserable season at the plate, but his .314 xwOBA is considerably better than his .259 wOBA in 183 plate appearances this year. He also frequently bats cleanup against righties, and Pederson has a track record of destroying Anthony DeSclafani. According to Baseball Savant, Pederson has hit four homers with a .658 wOBA and .575 xwOBA in 20 career plate appearances against DeSclafani.
