Smash Spots
Hunter Brown (SP – HOU) vs. SEA
Hunter Brown just shut down the Braves. He is now set to face a familiar opponent in the Mariners in a pivotal series within the American League West. Look for Brown to step up with another strong outing.
Tyler Glasnow (SP – LAD) vs. SF
Tyler Glasnow just absolutely dominated the Rockies for 11 strikeouts in seven innings. Expect another strong start at home against the Giants. The oft-injured pitcher is now in top form.
Framber Valdez (SP – HOU) vs. SEA
Like teammate Hunter Brown, bet on Framber Valdez to step up at home in a massive series against the Mariners. The crafty lefty has been a model of consistency once again this season.
Risky Starts
Drew Rasmussen (SP – TB) vs. TOR
Drew Rasmussen is tough to hit. In a hitter’s park against a pesky Blue Jays lineup that doesn’t strike out, though, this looks like a risky spot for the Rays righty.
Trevor Rogers (SP – BAL) vs. NYY
Trevor Rogers continues to hold it down for the Orioles, but he looks ripe for regression in a tough matchup against the Yankees, who are fighting for the American League East division title.
Sandy Alcantara (SP – MIA) @ COL
Sandy Alcantara has turned his season around, and the Rockies have a weak lineup, but you can never trust what you’re going to get at Coors Field.
Two-Start Pitchers
Logan Gilbert (SP – SEA) @ KC, @ HOU
Logan Gilbert seems to be rounding into form, making him a strong play due to the two-start week, even though the matchups are pretty tough against the Royals and Astros, both on the road.
Kevin Gausman (SP – TOR) @ TB, @ KC
We just saw Kevin Gausman dominate the Astros, but this week we have tougher matchups against the Rays and Royals on the road.
Michael King (SP – SD) @ NYM, @ CWS
Michael King was decent in his return from injury last week. He’s got a great chance for a win against the White Sox. But facing the Mets is a tough spot.
