Fantasy Football Mailbag: Streamers, Waiver Wire & Trades (2025)

Everyone loves an Ask Me Anything (AMA), especially the fantasy football community. You can put me at the top of the list of those who love fantasy football AMA. Answering questions for a specific individual fantasy player is so much fun. Not only am I helping that fantasy player improve their team, but it also challenges me to think outside the general box of who is higher in my rankings or who to start this year.

FantasyPros does an excellent job with their Discord AMAs, giving members a chance to have their questions answered by professionals. Please join the Discord channel and reach out to me anytime with any fantasy football questions.

Fantasy Football Discord AMA & Mailbag

So, without further ado, let’s dive into some of the questions and answers from my Week 5 Discord AMA.

Streaming Questions

Who can I start off the waiver wire in Week 5, with Tucker Kraft having his bye week?

While neither has much long-term fantasy value, Cade Otton and Tommy Tremble are two appealing streaming options for Week 5. Otton faces the Seattle Seahawks, who have surrendered 18.6 PPR fantasy points per game to tight ends this season, allowing 12.2 or more in every outing. Meanwhile, Tremble had eight targets and 15.2 fantasy points last week with Ja’Tavion Sanders out of the lineup. He faces the Miami Dolphins in Week 5, who have given up 16.6 fantasy points per game to tight ends this year.

Which quarterbacks are your top streaming options in Week 5?

You can read my quarterback streamers article for more info, but Matthew Stafford, Jaxson Dart, and Sam Darnold are my three favorite streaming options for Week 5. Dart has the most long-term upside for fantasy players who might need a multiple-week replacement option for Lamar Jackson. However, Stafford is my favorite one-week streaming option. After a quiet Week 1 performance, the veteran has averaged 289.7 passing yards, 2.3 touchdowns, and 19.5 fantasy points per game over the past three weeks.

Waiver Wire Questions

I lost Malik Nabers this week. What wide receivers should I target off the waiver wire?

Wan’Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton shouldn’t be on waivers after this week. However, neither will have significant production with Nabers out of the lineup. Romeo Doubs and Jalen Tolbert should have flex appeal the next few weeks as their teams deal with injuries. However, my favorite pick is Jalen Coker. Tetairoa McMillan has been solid, but the Carolina Panthers lack another reliable option in the passing game. Coker is coming off a quad injury and could make his season debut in the next week or two.

How much FAAB should I spend on Darren Waller?

The veteran made his season debut on Monday night, totaling two receiving touchdowns and 17.7 PPR fantasy points. However, Waller had only four targets, two more than Julian Hill. While Tyreek Hill’s likely season-ending injury helps Waller’s fantasy outlook, I would rather target Mason Taylor off the waiver wire. The rookie had seven targets in Week 4 and 13 over the past two weeks. He should be the New York Jets’ No. 2 option in the passing attack.

Player Outlook Questions

Is Woody Marks the real deal? Can I start him in Week 5?

Marks was outstanding in Week 4, totaling two touchdowns and 27.9 PPR fantasy points. While he is the top running back off the waiver wire, fantasy players should temper their expectations for the rookie. Nick Chubb is still a meaningful part of the run game. More importantly, the Houston Texans don’t get to face the Tennessee Titans’ awful defense every week. Marks is a startable flex option this week, but not someone I’m throwing into my lineup without thinking twice about it.

What should I do with TreVeyon Henderson after he played only 15 snaps against the Carolina Panthers?

Unfortunately, the New England Patriots seem determined to use Henderson, Rhamondre Stevenson, and Antonio Gibson. While the rookie had only nine touches in Week 4, he was the most productive running back for fantasy players, totaling a rushing touchdown and 12.6 PPR fantasy points. Hopefully, fantasy players can bench Henderson until the Patriots give him more work. I would only trade him away if my team is 1-3 or 0-4 and I need to make a deal. Henderson remains a stash candidate.

How much should I trust A.J. Brown in Week 5 and moving forward?

It’s been a rough start for Brown this season. The superstar has averaged 8.8 PPR fantasy points per game, totaling 7.7 or fewer in all but one contest. However, he has averaged nine targets per game since Week 1, totaling eight or more in every outing. Last week, Brown saw nine targets and a 37.5% target share against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, five and 20.8% more than anyone else on the team. I’m still starting the superstar without question.

Trade Questions

Would you trade Quentin Johnston and either Cam Skattebo or Ashton Jeanty for Saquon Barkley?

I wouldn’t trade Jeanty straight up for Barkley. However, I would trade Johnston and Skattebo for Barkley if you have good wide receiver depth. While Skattebo is a must-start running back for the next few weeks, I believe Tyrone Tracy Jr. will have a meaningful role once he returns from his shoulder injury. I also wonder how much passing game work the rookie will have with Jaxson Dart under center after seeing only a 10% target share in Week 4.

Should I sell high on Ashton Jeanty after his three-touchdown performance?

Absolutely not! The only way I’m trading away Jeanty is in a one-for-one deal that lands me Christian McCaffrey, Bijan Robinson, Jonathan Taylor, Puka Nacua, Jahmyr Gibbs, or Amon-Ra St. Brown. Fantasy players who are 0-4 or 1-3 and lack depth could consider a package deal and trade away Jeanty. However, it would need to be an impressive haul for me to trade away the former Boise State star after he had 82.1% of the backfield touches and 51.1% of the team’s total workload last week.

Dynasty Questions

Who are some cheap veteran wide receivers I can buy in dynasty as a contending team?

We are a month into the season, and it’s time for dynasty players to evaluate their rosters. Contending teams should look to trade for veterans wasting away on rebuilding squads. Stefon Diggs and Keenan Allen are my two favorite targets. Fantasy players can likely acquire either for a late second or early third round rookie pick. Last week, Diggs had 16.1 PPR fantasy points and looked healthy. Meanwhile, Allen has scored a touchdown and at least 17.1 fantasy points in all but one game this season.
