Fantasy Football Mailbag: Streamers, Waiver Wire & Trades (2025)

Everyone loves an Ask Me Anything (AMA), especially the fantasy football community. You can put me at the top of the list of those who love fantasy football AMA. Answering questions for a specific individual fantasy player is so much fun. Not only am I helping that fantasy player improve their team, but it also challenges me to think outside the general box of who is higher in my rankings or who to start this year.

FantasyPros does an excellent job with their Discord AMAs, giving members a chance to have their questions answered by professionals. Please join the Discord channel and reach out to me anytime with any fantasy football questions.

Fantasy Football Discord AMA & Mailbag

So, without further ado, let’s dive into some of the questions and answers from my Week 7 Discord AMA.

Waiver Wire Questions

Is Kimani Vidal the guy for the Los Angeles Chargers? How much FAAB should I spend?

Vidal was the lead guy for the Chargers on Sunday, totaling 21 touches for 138 scrimmage yards and 22.8 PPR fantasy. By comparison, Hassan Haskins had seven touches for 23 scrimmage yards and 3.3 fantasy points against the Miami Dolphins. However, I would only spend up to 10% of my remaining FAAB on him. The matchup was perfect for him against an awful Dolphins defense. Furthermore, Los Angeles has made trade calls, looking for a starting-caliber running back.

Should I drop Zonovan Knight for Woody Marks?

That depends on what you want to get out of the roster spot. Marks has more long-term upside despite scoring only 2.4 PPR fantasy points in his last game. However, Knight appears to be the starter for the Arizona Cardinals until Trey Benson returns from a knee injury. Last week, he had 11 rushing attempts for 34 yards, a touchdown, and 12.4 fantasy points. Knight has scored a touchdown in back-to-back games.

Trade Questions

Would you trade away CeeDee Lamb for A.J. Brown and Brian Thomas Jr.?

If you’re playing in an eight-team or smaller league, I would rather have Lamb. However, I would make the deal if it’s a larger league or if you need depth. Brown had a respectable 14 PPR fantasy points last week against the New York Giants. Hopefully, his connection with Jalen Hurts starts to click. Meanwhile, Thomas broke out of his slump, totaling 23 fantasy points last week. The trade might come back to bite you, but it’s worth the risk if you need depth.

I’m struggling at running back and was offered Rico Dowdle and Kareem Hunt for Ja’Marr Chase. Should I take it?

Absolutely not! While you might need help at running back, your league mate is trying to rip you off and sell high on Dowdle. He will continue to have a role even when Chuba Hubbard returns from a calf injury. Furthermore, Dowdle might even be the starter. Yet, he won’t have a featured role. More importantly, you’ve stuck with Chase through his struggles. Why would you trade him away now that he has 25 or more PPR fantasy points in back-to-back weeks?

Should I trade away Puka Nacua for Drake London and Jahmyr Gibbs?

It sounds like Nacua won’t miss significant time with an ankle injury. Yet, that’s a trade you can’t pass up. As great as Nacua has been this season, landing London and Gibbs gives your team two weekly starting players with top-five upside. London has had back-to-back games with at least 10 targets, a touchdown, and 25 PPR fantasy points. Meanwhile, Gibbs has scored 15 or more fantasy points in all but one contest.

Miscellaneous Questions

Thoughts on the Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings running backs?

The Cardinals’ backfield is one I would like to avoid if possible. Trey Benson will miss the next few weeks with a knee injury, with Zonovan Knight seeming like the starter until he returns. However, Michael Carter will also have a meaningful role. Meanwhile, Jordan Mason is a borderline must-start RB2 until Aaron Jones returns from a hamstring injury in a few weeks. Both Vikings running backs are startable flex options in PPR leagues.

What should we make of the Houston Texans and Denver Broncos backfields?

Nick Chubb is still the lead guy in Houston, totaling 11 touches compared to seven for Woody Marks in the Texans’ last game. However, Marks is worth stashing, especially in PPR leagues. Meanwhile, we should get more insight into whether Joe Mixon will play or not in a few weeks. Denver, on the other hand, has a borderline must-start RB2 in J.K. Dobbins despite his poor Week 6 performance. Harvey is also a stash candidate but has significantly more upside. Hopefully, he sees more work sooner than later.

Which rookie would you trade away: Quinshon Judkins, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, or Cam Skattebo?

I had Skattebo as a sell-high candidate in my trade article earlier this week. While it would take a significant deal to move the rookie, I would trade him for Saquon Barkley in a heartbeat. The one I want to hold onto the most is Judkins, despite his poor performance in Week 6. Croskey-Merritt might be your best option, depending on how much your league mates buy the hype around him. However, don’t feel like you must trade any of the rookies.

Dynasty Questions

As a rebuilding team in a tight end premium scoring league, would you trade away Sam LaPorta for a mid-2027 first-round pick and Chig Okonkwo if I also have Colston Loveland?

That’s a solid trade. I give it a B+. You want to rebuild, so getting draft capital is critical. I wouldn’t like this deal except that you have Loveland, who is more appealing to me than LaPorta for rebuilding teams. The only reason I don’t give this trade an A grade is that I would have rather gotten back another draft pick than Okonkwo, despite it being a tight end premium scoring league.
