Early Fantasy Football Trade Advice for Week 7

Players to Buy

Justin Fields (QB – NYJ)

Fields finished the Week 6 London game with 4.9 fantasy points, completing 52.9% of his 17 pass attempts for 45 yards and seven rushing attempts for 31 yards. The Jets finished with -10 net passing yards because of the nine sacks they gave up against an elite Denver Broncos defense. However, the former Ohio State star had averaged 242.3 passing yards, 1.3 touchdowns, and 27.5 fantasy points per game in his other three healthy matchups, averaging 8.7 rushing attempts for 51.7 yards and a touchdown in those contests.

Saquon Barkley (RB – PHI)

Unfortunately, Barkley hasn’t lived up to his first-round draft capital. Yet, he has played better lately. After averaging 3.1 yards per rushing attempt over the first four weeks, the superstar has averaged 4.9 yards per attempt over the past two weeks, posting a 4.8 or higher average in both games. More importantly, Jalen Hurts has 71 pass attempts over the past two weeks compared to 18 rushing attempts for Barkley. Don’t be surprised if Philadelphia has a correction performance in Week 7 and leans on their superstar running back.

Nico Collins (WR – HOU)

Houston had their bye in Week 6, after scoring a season-high 44 points in Week 5. Collins has played well since Week 1, averaging 16.1 PPR fantasy points per game, totaling 11.9 or more in every contest. However, he had only 11 targets over his past two games after totaling nine or more in the Week 2 and Week 3 matchups. The drop in targets was due to the Texans blowing out their opponents. Fantasy players should take advantage of the target dip and buy low on the superstar.

Stefon Diggs (WR – NE)

After back-to-back outstanding performances, Diggs severely struggled against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The veteran finished with three receptions on three targets for 28 receiving yards and 5.8 PPR fantasy points. His three targets were third on the team, totaling the same as Mack Hollins. While Kayshon Boutte and DeMario Douglas had better fantasy performances than Diggs, they lucked out by finding the end zone three times. Meanwhile, the veteran got called for two questionable offensive passing interference penalties, including one that negated a 50-plus-yard reception for him.

Players to Sell

Sam Darnold (QB – SEA)

Hopefully, fantasy players added Darnold off the waiver wire last week ahead of the matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had 295 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 20 fantasy points in the win. More importantly, the veteran has averaged 2.2 passing touchdowns and 19.3 fantasy points per game since Week 1. However, now is the time to sell high on Darnold. He faces the Houston Texans next week and then has his bye. Fantasy players should explore packaging Darnold and a starting flex player in exchange for Lamar Jackson.

Cam Skattebo (RB – NYG)

While Skattebo’s three-touchdown performance on Thursday night likely won many fantasy players their Week 6 matchup, now is the time to explore trade options for the rookie running back. The former Arizona State star has averaged 20.6 PPR fantasy points per game over the past four weeks, totaling 24 or more twice. However, he has averaged 4.3 yards per rushing attempt during that span. While fantasy players shouldn’t force a trade, they should explore sell-high options for Skattebo, including Saquon Barkley, before next week’s matchup against the Denver Broncos.

George Pickens (WR – DAL)

Reportedly, CeeDee Lamb could return to the lineup in Week 7. Unfortunately, that means Pickens will see a dip in target volume. After totaling 13 targets in the two games with Lamb this season, Pickens has averaged 8.8 per game over the past four weeks without the superstar, totaling nine or more in three contests. Furthermore, in the one game he had under nine targets, Pickens had only 13.7 PPR fantasy points despite scoring a touchdown. Fantasy players should see if they can turn him into a must-start WR1.

T.J. Hockenson (TE – MIN)

The Vikings have a decision to make at quarterback following their Week 6 bye. Do they go back to J.J. McCarthy once healthy or stick with Carson Wentz? Either way, Hockenson has limited fantasy value because of Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. The veteran has averaged 4.8 targets and 8.1 PPR fantasy points per game this year, totaling six or fewer targets in every contest. Hockenson has had more than 55 receiving yards in a game only three times since the end of the 2023 season, including none this year.
