Fantasy Football Burning Questions
Ja’Marr Chase Out; Joe Flacco In?
Ja’Marr Chase’s one-game suspension for spitting on Jalen Ramsey was upheld, ruling him out for Week 12. Tee Higgins stands to be the primary beneficiary in the absence of Chase, who has already shown out with Joe Flacco under center, finishing as a top-15 wide receiver in three out of five games (60%), averaging 4.4 receptions on 7.4 targets for 77.2 yards, one touchdown and 18.1 PPR points since Week 6.
Although Joe Burrow was a full participant in practice, he was not activated off injured reserve (IR), likely missing one more game before a Thursday night showdown against the Ravens on Thanksgiving.
Who to Trust in Atlanta?
Michael Penix Jr. was placed on the season-ending IR list earlier in the week, set to undergo surgery for a partially torn ACL. As a result, Kirk Cousins has been named the starter, which could be problematic for the Falcons’ offense. Cousins was abysmal in his last start, throwing for 173 yards and zero touchdowns, averaging 5.6 yards per attempt, and finishing with a 35.5 quarterback rating.
It didn’t help that Cousins was without his No. 1 target, Drake London, who has also been ruled out for Week 12 and could miss multiple games. Kyle Pitts and Darnell Mooney should benefit the most in the absence of London, but it’s hard to trust anyone in the offense outside of Bijan Robinson.
Who Suits up for Green Bay?
The Packers have been ravaged by injuries all season, losing another critical piece in Josh Jacobs, who exited Week 11 with a knee injury early in the second quarter and never returned. Without Jacobs, Emanuel Wilson handled 100% of the backfield carries, seeing 12 total touches on the day for 49 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown.
Although Jacobs has been limited in practice, he’s currently listed as questionable, trending towards a game-time decision. If Jacobs were to miss this week’s contest versus the Vikings, Wilson would get the start in one of the better matchups of the week, facing a Vikings run funnel defense allowing a league-high 26.3 carries and the ninth-most rushing yards (104.4) per game to opposing backfields. There’s also a chance that Jayden Reed is back in the lineup, who was officially activated off IR earlier this week.
