Smash Spots
Dustin May (SP – STL) vs. MIA
Dustin May has been absolutely on fire for the Cardinals, establishing himself as the top starter on the team. You’re likely going to see another deep outing with strong ratios in a home start versus the Marlins.
Sandy Alcantara (SP – MIA) vs. TEX
Sandy Alcantara has gone at least six innings in four consecutive starts. I love the spot at home against an underwhelming Rangers lineup.
Mick Abel (SP – MIN) vs. COL
Mick Abel looks ready to return for the Twins this week. He’s looked sharp in his rehab assignment. You have to be excited about an upcoming home start vs. the Rockies.
Risky Starts
Logan Webb (SP – SFG) vs. ATL
Logan Webb has gotten into a rhythm, but any time you have to take on a tough Braves lineup, there’s always going to be some risk.
Payton Tolle (SP – BOS) vs. NYY
Payton Tolle has been terrific for the Red Sox this season, but he’s got a tough matchup against the Yankees this week. Even without Aaron Judge, this is still a tough lineup.
Connelly Early (SP – BOS) vs. NYY
Connelly Early is another Red Sox young arm who has performed very well this season, just not as well as Payton Tolle. This is a tough spot versus the Yankees.
Two-Start Pitchers
Kyle Bradish (SP – BAL) @ LAA, vs. WSH
Kyle Bradish is coming off a dominant outing against the Mariners, where he racked up 12 strikeouts. Perhaps he’s finally gotten on track. Bet on him to build on that with a two-start week, starting versus the Angels.
Trey Yesavage (SP – TOR) vs. HOU, vs. TEX
Trey Yesavage bounced back with a great outing versus the Red Sox. I like his chances of two strong starts at home against the Astros and the Rangers.
Brandon Woodruff (SP- MIL) @ CIN, vs. CHC
Brandon Woodruff is set to return from injury this week, just in time for a two-start week against the Reds and the Cubs. I love the matchup versus the Reds in particular, since they’re strikeout-prone.
