6 Overvalued Fantasy Football Draft Picks to Avoid on Sleeper (2026)

The 2026 NFL preseason is underway, meaning we’ve officially hit the start of redraft fantasy football season. Therefore, it’s time to do all the preparation fantasy players ignored over the past few months. Many factors go into fantasy players winning their redraft league every year. However, the top factor is arguably avoiding players that will bust or are overpriced.

Overvalued Fantasy Football Players to Avoid on Sleeper

Let’s look at six players who are overpriced based on Sleeper ADP for redraft leagues.

Jaxson Dart (NYG) – ADP 80.6 | QB7

Despite missing three games and not starting until Week 4, Dart finished his rookie season as the QB13, averaging 17.3 fantasy points per contest. While fantasy players should draft him as a QB1, Dart is overvalued at his current ADP. Last year, 42.5% of his fantasy production came on the ground, totaling 487 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. Furthermore, over half of his rushing scores came after Cam Skattebo suffered a season-ending injury. Dart will run less with Skattebo healthy and has limited in-game chemistry with Malik Nabers.

De’Von Achane (MIA) – ADP 12.5 | RB5

Achane was one of five running backs to average over 20 PPR fantasy points per game last year (20.2). However, he was the most dependent of the five on his role in the passing game to hit that fantasy points-per-contest mark. Over half of his fantasy production during the past two years has come in the passing game. Furthermore, Achane’s fantasy production tanked when Tua Tagovailoa was sidelined. I won’t draft him as a mid-range RB1 and would like to avoid picking Achane altogether with Malik Willis under center.

Bucky Irving (TB) – ADP 34.4 | RB17

After finishing his rookie season as the RB13, averaging 14.4 PPR fantasy points per game, Irving regressed last year and struggled to stay healthy, missing seven contests. Furthermore, he had offseason shoulder surgery. More importantly, Irving averaged two fewer yards per rushing attempt and 0.28 fewer fantasy points per touch last year compared to his rookie season. The Buccaneers signed Kenneth Gainwell to a significant contract in free agency, calling the veteran a co-starter during training camp, showing their lack of trust in Irving as a featured running back.

Tetairoa McMillan (CAR) – ADP 37.3 | WR15

Carolina’s passing attack lacks significant upside with Bryce Young under center. Last season, McMillan finished as the WR22 in PPR scoring on a points-per-game basis (12.4), posting a lower average than DK Metcalf (12.5). Yet, according to Fantasy Points Data, he had the 11th-highest receiving yards market share (30.7%) among players with at least 30 targets last year. While I like McMillan, he is overvalued as the WR15 in ADP. I would rather draft DeVonta Smith, Zay Flowers, and Emeka Egbuka with a later ADP over the former Arizona Star.

Luther Burden III (CHI) – ADP 41.1 | WR17

The hype around Burden has gotten out of control. He averaged fewer PPR fantasy points per game than Theo Wease Jr. last season (8.6 vs. 8.5). While everyone says Burden was a superstar during the fantasy playoffs, he missed Week 16 and took advantage of an injury obliterated San Francisco 49ers defense in Week 17 where Rome Odunze didn’t play, totaling eight receptions on nine targets for 138 receiving yards, a touchdowns, and 27.8 fantasy points. Furthermore, Burden scored 12.2 fantasy points on 14 targets during Chicago’s two playoff matchups.

Oronde Gadsden II (LAC) – ADP 94.7 | TE9

Fantasy players had high hopes for Gadsden after he flashed upside as a rookie, finishing the year as the TE15, averaging 8.8 PPR fantasy points per game. The former Syracuse star averaged 13.5 fantasy points per game in the five contests with six or more targets. Unfortunately, the Chargers signed David Njoku in free agency. They also drafted Brenen Thompson and haven’t closed the door on a Keenan Allen reunion. While fantasy players should draft Gadsden over Njoku, he shouldn’t get picked as anything more than a mid-range TE2.
