13 Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers (2026)

When preparing for your fantasy football drafts, knowing which players to target and which to avoid is important. The amount of information available can be overwhelming, so a great way to condense the data and determine players to draft and others to leave for your leaguemates is to use our expert consensus fantasy football rankings compared to fantasy football average draft position (ADP). In this way, you can identify players the experts are willing to reach for at ADP and others they are not drafting until much later than average. Beyond this, it’s important to keep tabs on preseason rankings risers and fallers. We’ll help you there with this recurring article, where we’ll explore players rising or falling in the rankings as we approach NFL Week 1.

Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers: NFL Preseason Week 1

NFL preseason games are underway, fantasy football drafts are heating up, and this week brought the resolution of a storyline that’s run through nearly this entire series plus a clear positional trend worth acting on. Here’s what moved over the last week of expert rankings updates.

    Fantasy Football Risers

Stefon Diggs (up 40 spots to No. 136 — and up a tier). The biggest riser of the entire series, and the closing chapter of its longest-running subplot. Diggs has been the board’s largest overdraft for most of the summer, a 1,000-yard receiver whose ranking was frozen by the simple fact that he had no team. That ended August 5, when he signed a one-year deal (up to $12 million) with Washington. He slots in immediately as the clear No. 2 receiver opposite Terry McLaurin, catching passes from Jayden Daniels in an offense that badly needed a complement to McLaurin. The rankers moved him up 40 spots and across a tier.

Deebo Samuel Sr. (up 10 to No. 153) and De’Zhaun Stribling (up 9 to No. 155). The San Francisco duo keeps climbing, a week after Ricky Pearsall‘s season-ending injury cleared their paths. Both crossed a tier this week as the consensus grows more confident in the reshuffled Niners receiver room. This is what a maturing injury-cascade looks like: The initial surge, then a second week of follow-through as roles solidify in camp.

Jonathon Brooks (up 11 spots to No. 101). Our series-long bellwether climbs again, now knocking on the door of the top 100. His value gap tightened notably (from -17 to -7), a sign the rankers are closing the remaining distance to a market that’s believed in him for weeks. The health-and-opportunity case we’ve tracked all summer. And he’s probably going to continue to rise given Chuba Hubbard’s hamstring injury that has him considered week-to-week.

Zach Charbonnet (up 10 to No. 134) rebounds after last week’s dip, and Bucky Irving (up 6 to No. 51) firms up inside the top-tier RB group.

    Fantasy Football Fallers

The mid-round tight ends, as a group. This is the story of the week on the faller side, not one player, but a position. Harold Fannin Jr. (down 11 to No. 87, and down a tier), Mark Andrews (down 7 to No. 128), Isaiah Likely (down 6 to No. 132), Dalton Kincaid (down 5 to No. 119, down a tier), and Travis Kelce (down 5 to No. 105) all slid this week. There’s no single news event behind it. It’s the consensus recalibrating the muddy middle of the tight end position as camp clarifies roles. And it caps a trend we’ve flagged for five straight weeks: tight ends now occupy eight of the fifteen biggest overdraft gaps on the entire board. The message for drafters has been consistent and is getting louder: Outside the elite handful, the market is paying more for tight ends than the consensus thinks the position returns.

Mike Evans (down 8 spots to No. 59). The most notable non-TE faller, slipping within the back half of the WR2 range. He was dealing with an injury but has returned to practice.

Travis Hunter (down 10 to No. 179) and Jauan Jennings (down 12 to No. 164, down a tier) round out the draftable-range slides.
