Kenley Jansen showing early signs of increased velocity

by Matthew Davis | Red Sox Correspondent | Wed, Feb 26th 7:35pm EST

Kenley Jansen made his second spring outing while continuing to look impressive with increased velocity. Jansen was sitting 93 MPH and touched 94 MPH. His velocity has dipped over the past two seasons which resulted in a meager 14.5% HR/FB. (Kyle Glaser on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Jansen is being drafted as the ninth closer on average with an NFBC ADP of 109 since the beginning of February. If the velocity continues to rise you can also expect his ADP to do the same. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is going to provide one of the longer leashes at the closer position, making Jansen one of the “safer” options for saves.
