Brendan Ryan left Wednesday's game with an apparent leg injury

by AJ Stone | Wed, Apr 1st 5:06pm EDT

Brendan Ryan, who was playing SS this afternoon against the Tampa Bay Rays, was injured on a ground ball hit up the middle. He appeared to be in severe pain and was forced to leave the game due to what is now being called a right strained calf. In all likelihood, Ryan will have to start the year off on the DL.

Fantasy Impact:

Brendan Ryan is a backup middle infielder for the Yankees, so his injury should not have too much impact on his fantasy outlook. It could however open the door for Rob Refsnyder, who has been having a good spring thus far at the plate.
