Joely Rodriguez 's ankle is free from pain, but he has not been able to throw consistently, meaning that he is a couple of weeks behind most other relievers. (Evan Grant on Twitter)

While LHP Joely Rodriguez's ankle is no longer a source of pain, it did keep him from throwing long enough to put him "a couple of weeks behind" other relievers, according to Jon Daniels. Might create another spot on opening day roster for a reliever.

Rodriguez's Opening Day roster spot is in jeopardy, and he is a risky draft day selection given his multiple 2020 injuries. He is a name to keep on the radar though, given the Rangers' lack of options in the closer role.
