Fantasy Impact:

Ross was shut down in August last year after partially tearing his UCL, but he was able to avoid a second Tommy John surgery. The news of surgery to remove a bone spur in his elbow, however, dampens whatever meager enthusiasm fantasy managers might have had. Ross had a respectable 4.17 ERA and 1.22 WHIP last year, but his setback should effectively take him off draft boards this year. The injury makes the possibility of both Josh Rogers and Paolo Espino ending up in the rotation far more likely.
