German Marquez is dealing with a cut on his thumb and is having trouble gripping his fastball. He was removed after 3 1/3 innings pitched in his start Wednesday. (Danielle Allentuck on Twitter)
Marquez stated that the cut on his thumb happened a few days ago during a bullpen session. The issue of not being able to grip his fastball likely led to his poor start Wednesday. It is not known if this will impact his ability to make his next start, but fantasy managers likely are looking to start Marquez anyway right now.
