Mets GM Billy Eppler reported Marte's recovery from offseason core surgery has him in wait-and-see mode. It's also possible the 34-year-old participates for a loaded Dominican Republic squad in the upcoming World Baseball Classic that kicks off March 8. Marte hit .292 with 16 home runs and 18 stolen bases across 118 games in his first season with the Mets in 2022.
