Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol stated Thursday that Phil Maton is "fully built up" after training in Arizona for several weeks, per John Denton of MLB.com. (John Denton)

Maton, who signed a one-year deal with St. Louis earlier in the day, is on track to be ready for the Cardinals' March 27 season opener against the Twins. He will throw a live batting practice session Sunday before making his Grapefruit League debut. The veteran right-hander is expected to handle a setup role in the bullpen.
