Cade Horton in mix to start this weekend

With Imanaga (hamstring) landing on the 15-day IL, the Cubs are left with an opening in their rotation. Counsell mentioned Horton and Chris Flexen as potential replacements, though Flexen appears to be the frontrunner. He's already on the 26-man roster and impressed in his first outing with the Cubs Friday, tossing three scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Regardless of whether Horton gets the call this time, he's worth monitoring as he's posted a 1.24 ERA and 0.86 WHIP across six starts at Triple-A Iowa. Whoever is tapped to start will likely take the mound Saturday against the Mets.
