Miles Mikolas Delivers Solid Start in Win Over Pirates

Miles Mikolas allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk while striking out five over five innings in Thursday's victory against the Pirates.

After today’s performance, Mikolas now has a 5.04 ERA and 1.35 WHIP to go with a 6-10 record across 26 starts this season. Even though he didn't get the win, it was a solid start for Mikolas. It was the first game he's allowed one or fewer runs in a start since July, and also broke a two-start streak of only picking up one strikeout. It's been a bad year for him all around. Despite a solid outing against the lowly Pirates, he shouldn't be trusted next week against the Athletics.
