Colin Rea shines despite tough loss to Reds
by Chase Davis | Cubs Correspondent | Fri, Sep 19th 8:22am EDT
Colin Rea allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks while striking out 11 over seven innings in Thursday's narrow loss to the Reds.
Fantasy Impact:
After today’s performance, Rea holds a 4.10 ERA and 1.26 WHIP with a 10-7 record across 26 starts this season. This outing marks the second time he's gone at least seven innings this year, and the first game he's had more than eight strikeouts in a single start. He's never been a big strikeout pitcher, but the Reds strike out the fifth most against right-handed pitchers. If the Cubs stick with a six-man rotation, Rea would be in line to face the Mets next week.
