JJ Bleday, according to multiple reports, has agreed to a contract with the Cincinnati Reds. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. (Robert Murray on X)
Fantasy Impact:
The former fourth overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft, Bleday has yet to put it all together at the big league level. He did flash his ability in 2024 when he batted .243 with 20 home runs and 43 doubles in 159 games with the Athletics. But, it went south last season as the left-handed outfielder hit just .212 with 10 home runs in 98 games and was twice demoted to Triple-A. Bleday heads to a hitter-friendly ballpark in Cincinnati, but joins a crowded outfield situation with the Reds. If he can regain his 2024 form, Bleday could be a regular starter in, what should be, a good lineup. At the very least, he will be a solid platoon/bench option for the Reds.
