Bradley Blalock has been traded from the Colorado Rockies to the Miami Marlins for minor league pitcher, Jake Brooks. Blalock was designated for assignment last week by the Rockies. (Jeff Passan on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Blalock heads to the Marlins with an opportunity to crack the opening day roster with a good spring. However, his numbers at the big league level will have to greatly improve in order to see time in the Marlins' rotation. In parts of two seasons with Milwaukee and Colorado, the righthander is 3-9 with an 8.16 ERA in 21 appearances (18 starts). In 89.1 career innings, he has allowed 21 home runs, 120 hits, and has only struck out 47 batters. Still, with the trades Miami has made over the last couple of weeks, the back end of the rotation is up for grabs.
