Jurickson Profar is facing a season-long suspension, creating roster opportunities. Farmer joined Atlanta as a non-roster invitee. His defensive versatility at shortstop could enable Mauricio Dubon to platoon with Mike Yastrzemski in left field. Jorge Mateo and Eli White are also candidates for the left field platoon role.
