Harry Ford optioned to Triple-A after quiet spring

Acquired from the Mariners over the winter, Ford was considered a candidate to challenge Keibert Ruiz for the starting catcher job. He slashed .214/.353/.286 across 17 spring plate appearances and hit .200 with a .694 OPS over four World Baseball Classic games for Team Great Britain. (Nationals Communications)
Fantasy Impact:
Ford was optioned to Triple-A Rochester Wednesday, with Drew Millas now set to open the season as Ruiz's backup. Ford is expected to reach the majors at some point this season.
