Jameson Taillon earns no-decision in first start of year

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Tue, Mar 31st 11:48pm EDT

Jameson Taillon went 4.2 scoreless innings on Tuesday and allowed two hits and four walks while striking out three. The Angels went on to defeat the Cubs, 2-0.

Fantasy Impact:

Taillon needed 85 pitches to get through 4.2 innings, but he was able to keep the Angels off the scoreboard. He ran into trouble in the fifth and left with two outs and the bases loaded after a walk, a double, and an intentional walk to Mike Trout. Lefthander Hoby Milner came on to retire left-handed hitting Nolan Schanuel to preserve the 0-0 score. Taillon went 11-7 with a 3.68 ERA in 23 starts with the Cubs a season ago. Chicago's rotation is quite deep and Taillon could be the best fifth starter in all of baseball this season.
