Carmen Mlodzinski settles for no-decision Saturday

by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Sun, Apr 5th 8:38am EDT

Carmen Mlodzinski pitched 4.2 innings and allowed two runs on five hits, walked three, and struck out five as the Pirates walked off the Orioles, 3-2, on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Mlodzinski (0-0) earned his second no-decision in as many starts to begin the season. Both runs, and four of the five hits, he allowed came in the top of the fourth inning as the Orioles took a 2-0 lead. Otherwise, it was a solid outing for the righthander, though he did need 84 pitches to get through 4.2 innings. It's been a mixed bag of results for Mlodzinski through two starts - he's tied for ninth in the National League with 13 strikeouts, but he has allowed 14 baserunners through nine innings. He'll take a 4.00 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to come against the Cubs next weekend.
