Jake Mangum swipes first base of season Tuesday

by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Wed, Apr 8th 12:04am EDT

Jake Mangum did not start on Tuesday, but went 1-for-1 with a run scored, an RBI, and his first stolen base of the season in the Pirates' 7-1 win over the Padres.

Fantasy Impact:

Mangum pinch hit for Spencer Horwitz in the bottom of the eighth and lined a single to right that brough home Nick Yorke for Pittsburgh's fifth run of the game. Mangum then stole second and came in to score on Konnor Griffin's two-run single. Mangum stole 27 bases with the Rays in his rookie campaign last season and will look to take a run at that number this year. He has played in nine of Pittsburgh's 11 games and is slashing .280/.308/.320. Mangum offers little power so he needs to showcase his speed to be fantasy relevant.
